I can't believe this! Crochet hooks review

KMart use to be an American store in the 80’s and probably earlier. We use to go there all the time. Their Icees were amazing. I think there are some still around in the U. S., just when Target came onto the scene and then Walmart, no one really shopped at KMart, so they went out of business. I love their Blue Light Specials.

We had a kmart in the USA until around 2016 i think they all closed. I loved it and miss it. Yes its similar to Walmart but cheaper lol.

@@CrochetwithClare they would pick an area and have a big tall blue light on wheels they’d wheel over and put stuff in that little area on sale!!! Like a really good sale!! It would be for 10 minutes or so and then it would be done. This was probably 40 years ago or so since I’m 48 and it was around that time in my life. Dang, 40 years ago…I’m so old now 😞

We have super wal-mart that sells food, clothing, automotive stuff, arts, crafts, books, shoes, office supplies/school stuff, there is a pharmacy in there and health n beauty supplies AND plants and everything associated with outdoorsy stuff..

Kmart in Maine has just recently closed. But I was at JoAnn's Fabric store and could not believe the price of the Clover Amour Hooks; &89.99! I bought the same set about 5 yrs ago for $40. That is my go-to hook for sure.

I was looking for yarn and saw those in the K-Mart aisle near me in QLD i have never used them with those silicone handles before so didn't bother buying them!!! I don't crochet continuously, perhaps and hour or so a day, so what i have is ok, but i have found my thumb on my left hand has been sore lately!!! I do shop at Spotlight and their hooks are expensive!!! I don't have many , but i bought a lotus hook from a company on the internet in Australia a few years back, i love it!!! It is a 7mm hook which i love using with 8 ply yarn to make the lacy stitch which is great for the lacy poncho or shawl effect i have been making lately!!! I use the aluminium or steel hooks, not into plastic as i find the yarn doesn't slide along easily!!!

Hello Cindy thank you so much for your reply. Yes I agree spotlight is Expensive with the crochet hooks. If the came up ones are in your budget then I would recommend using them if you were getting a sore Thumb

Hi Clare, was in K-Mart yesterday and bought the hooks with silicone handles, never used silicone handles before, will see how they go. They also have a few different size hooks which i don't have so they will be be useful when needed, Thank You 😊

We used to have K-Mart here in the US, but I believe they have all closed. They couldn't compete with Walmart. Walmart sells everything you can imagine! I love those hooks! I purchased mine from Amazon.

the american equivalent to K-Mart is K-mart....K-mart started in the states.....but it's gone down in quality that they have been closing down many k-marts here in the states.....because Wal-mart started selling groceries more than 20 years ago as well as the department store stuff

if you get pain in the hand you are holding your hook in, you can try loosening your grip on the hook a little....i learned that with my knitting needles....hold the hook or needles in your hand loosely....you should make yourself as relaxed and comfortable as you can while you crochet or knit....have yourself a hot cup of coffree or tea.....put the tv on or youtube or the radio and just sit in a comfy chair or couch

Thanks for your review on these. I purchased a pack some months ago here on Gold Coast and love them. I don't like the metal one either and as a beginner these provide better grip. I had some feedback from others saying the better ones, like Tulip at $7 each, out of my budget, were better. I'm guessing Tulip is also made in China.

Thank you, the one you showed was unavailable but by looking i found a set with a beautiful case that i was needing with a bunch of Ergonomic hooks and a set of wooden hooks, it also has a few Ergonomic steel hooks and i was needing the 1.75 and it includes a bunch of accesories, it says 96 pieces with case for 10 dollars. I only needed the case and that 1 hook....Those 2 items alone would have cost 26 dollars and the case is BETTER than the one i was getting in my cart. It is a damero case duplicate with the two hook sections separated by zippers. Im sure it is a mistake siince other identical listings cost a lot more.

I'm like you, & have multiple sets, both expensive & cheap, & I agree with you about them feeling the same as you use them 🤣 I wish we had something like KMart near me, but I live in a coastal village in mid-Wales, & my nearest decent town for shopping is at least 22 miles away! they are a little pricey. if you are able to save up for them or get them with a discount they are worth it. there are sales in a lot of craft stores online towards the end of the year. you can also build a collection by saving up and buying one hook at a time every couple of months. I know my US friends did that with her tulips and her clovers
