Had mine for two months now. It came perfectly intonated and still is. Changed stirngs to “9’s” and plays even better, pickups sound great and the built in effects are wonderful when just playing in my music room, the app works great with amazing selections and different amp options. I’m hoping that eventually they’ll make a 12string version

Darrell said this guitar feels “plasticy” - that’s because these injections molded guitars are mostly plastic resin with ground up carbon fiber powder mixed in. It’s a cool practice guitar if you want an all-in-one, but be careful because this material tends to easily crack and shatter with very little effort. Agufish has a Lava 4 unboxing video where he opened the box and the entire top was shattered. There’s no way to repair these guitars, sadly. I have also heard of reports of warping after several years of use. These guitars can resist some humidity changes at best, but understand that it won’t perform like bidirectional woven carbon fiber material. I’m not criticizing this guitar specifically as it seems really cool. I’m merely speaking g to the material that a bunch of companies have embraced. I believe it’s important that guitarists understand that there are different types of composite materials being used to make guitars, and it’s important to be educated about these materials just like you know wood, so you’ll know if it’s a good fit for your needs. I think this guitar would make a great first guitar or practice solution for home in rooms where you don’t have your amps - but if you’re looking to travel or have rowdy kids/dogs, these injections molded composite guitars won’t generally hold up to bumps, drops, and extreme temperatures over time (like high heat or frigid climates all year). If that sounds like you, you’re better off saving for a KLOS to get the most affordable bidirectional CF available. If you’re gentle on your guitars and will just use it at home, this seems like a really cool guitar to own! Hope this info is helpful to some people. Happy playing!

bought the enya acoustic after watching your vid and i've had it a couple of years and it's been a great guitar...take it to the lake, camping and work road trips no problems at all, and stays charged up forever, just love it...think i'll grab one of these, really impressed with enya products...thanks for demo vid.

Hi just be aware, it being carbon fibre doesn’t mean it’ll be unbreakable. Carbon fibre shatters into pieces that can’t be fixed. They’re definitely harder wearing than wood but no where near as repairable

The Eyna App has a bunch of tones you can load to the guitar. You can even make a custom tone. So the tone control is indeed there, just not on-board the guitar. FYI: After a few months of positive reviews this baby now will run you $440, or $490 for the bright colored ones. I got the “Volcano Red/Yellow” one and it is awesome looking!!! Great review - spot on!

Definitely seems like a fun guitar to practice on especially without having to be near your amp/setup to access some pedal tones. Also seems good for people looking to get into live playing, you can head out to the park or city center and play guitar without having to bring a full setup.

I have an Enya Nova SP1, and what I liked most is that the fretboard is perfect-no buzzing sound. You can adjust the action to high or low, tight or loose.

I'm retired from live performance (gettin' old, medical issues). I've got a wall of some 15 guitars, and actually trying to sell several off - but I just ordered this, largely for the "couch guitar" aspect of it. Seems a quick and easy way to have some tones available for fartin' around. Be interesting to see how long the battery lasts - but hey, I gotta sleep sometime.

Unlike a lot of the instruments you've reviewed, this one is actually affordable. I'd like a tone control, too, but, as a package, I'm willing to live without a tone control to get the onboard effects and a reasonably usable onboard speaker. I've had a couple less-than-satifactory experiences with carbon fiber guitars, but this one looks like it effectively deals with some of the issues I had. I might have to take the plunge for this one.

@@r3lativ Some years back I bought a small one, and except for the tuning machines, nothing was adjustable. Nut and bridge were molded into the guitar. Intonation was slightly off, but couldn't be fixed without jury-rigging something on the bridge. I didn't want to do that, so found a buyer looking for a travel guitar not affected by weather and humidity.

70 years ago a brand new Fender Stratocaster would set you back $250 and unless it was lost, stolen or beat to hell it would still be as playable today as it was back then. I can't help but wonder what this $350 guitar will be like in 70 years. I would seriously doubt if any of it's onboard special effects and features would still be functional. Maybe it would still function and be playable if plugged into an amp but when one thinks of how obsolete a cell phone, a tablet, a laptop or a desktop becomes within a few years I don't see this guitar lasting long enough to be little more than a short term gimmick.

I want one of these just for the weight savings alone. I want something that I can just pick up and play at home without much fuss. My Les Paul weighs more than a dense watermelon, and I'm always worried about smashing it into things in my small townhouse. Something like this seems perfect to pick up and play (cheap, light, built in speaker, good neck/playability).

This may have ended the agonizing decision of which electric guitar will be my first. I have the Enya X4 Pro Mini Acoustic and I love it! I don’t know much about electric guitar and this Enya looks to be enough for someone just delving in. The professional setup needed on many budget electric guitars might be totally unnecessary with this one.

Several people have brought up the following issue, can you comment on it? "Since it utilizes a standard shaped body to reverberate the speaker it has a major feedback problem. Anything above 25% volume and the thing goes crazy if you don't mute the strings constantly."

This is a pretty cool option for throwing in the RV or sitting on the couch (I got their acoustic for those purposes). I’m sure I would ONLY use the convenience of the onboard speaker; saving the amp for my other real electric guitars. To even pretend that this is a “Les Paul style guitar” is pretty ridiculous, though. That’s like saying a golf cart is a “Rolls Royce style of vehicle” because it has four wheels.

This guitar is perfect for beginners or casual players that want to just play it home without all the cables and needs for pedals and PCs. Being able to just pick the guitar and instantly have a sound to follow some song on you tube is very apelative. For professionals the speakers has no utility other than to play ideas or compose on the go when the inspiration comes maybe. Amazing instrument.

I am 74 have 3 Taylorsw and 8 high end martins, and PRS's hollowbody and McCarty.. and I love the Neg2.. Neck of a les paul, stays in tune in any weather, perfect out doors jam guitar with speaker and external speaker. No downsides for the price

Well that is just perfect for the Street Musician. No more lugging of stupid amplifiers and heavy batteries. It's all built in! And with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery! This is an Awesome Instrument. For anybody! And 350 bucks. Sold! I don't even play guitar! I'm just a Studio Owner. And it's already got the effects built in. Along with the speaker no less! I could, MIC that right up. By taping a, Lavalier Microphone to the guitar directly. And also being able to take a Direct! And recorded in Stereo. One microphone and one DI pickup. Cool! And it's all built in! Except for the lavalier microphone. As he's going to move around too much to put a, SM-57 on the guitar directly. I mean you could. But why bother? The lavalier will be more consistent sounding. As he moves. Well that was just a splendid demonstration. Of a cool instrument. Worth every penny. RemyRAD PS No joke. I've got multiple major music award nominations. For my engineering expertise. So, I'm actually not kidding. A unique instrument. Requires, unique recording.

Great guitar. But I wish Enya would incorporate these improvements in its next upgrade: include an onboard tuner like most acoustic-electric guitars (the tuner on the phone is quite inaccurate and cumbersome to use), make it lighter, enable the guitar to be found (if lost) using the phone and Wi-Fi.

12:12 Good point, definitely needs a metal plate at the jack. 12:48 Tone Control would be a plus, agreed, actually a deal breaker without, for me. The overall shape, look is great, upper fret access better than anything Gibson has ever done for their les pauls, and their 'Modern' model's solution looks horrid. 😄 I would like to see this model upgraded, could be a game changer.

For a practice electric its brilliant or even for busking..no need to have an amp. But is it small enough for a travel guitar for airline travel? Probably not but these China made instruments are getting innovative.

For recording purposes: Can you mic the speaker on the guitar but still send a line directly into channel or into an amp atvthe same time? Record two tracks at the same time, same performance? That would be cool. I do it all the time by mic'ing a hollow body or acoustic but also going straight into channel for two tones on the same performance.

this is every bedroom guitarist’s wet dream! if it had an app to hook it up to your phone and edit the effects i’d be really tempted. but i’m gonna save 200+ and get a spark go that i can hook up to the guitars i got. if i were to start playing from scratch i’d be already sold though. side note: yeah it’s gonna be heat and moisture resistant but better not drop the damn thing. if the body or the neck shatter, it’s gonna be unfixable unlike wooden guitars. so i wouldn’t carry it around to band practice. i’d keep it as a strictly bedroom instrument

The cork sniffers will hate it. Composite guitars may be the future. I hope the battery can be replaced, the app doesn't evaporate, and the pickups can be connected in the traditional way for when the electronics inevitably die. Maybe aversion without the gimmicks for 199?
