The shock of realizing it is possible to love your job. That people who you've heard say this throughout your life are not BSing you. It's not just them "self gas-lighting". That realization is life-changing. When you know such a thing is possible -- because it just happened to you. It's humbling, the outpouring of relief and gratitude is overwhelming. When you finally KNOW that everything is going to be okay. When you finally love your job. That's real peace. So glad you've found it, LD.

Great vid. Im pretty much stuck at the same situation that you were at one point, stuck in this loop of waking up, going to work, eating, sleeping and repeat. I'm not happy, but i ain't miserable either. Nothing really motivates me, i have thought about doing one thing or another at times, but haven't gotten to the staring point. Im 25 and still living with my parents, got another 3 years to pay my debts.... got to keep grinding for another 3 years I guess, then maybe times will get easier and I can finally move out.

decide what you want to do, and do it. If you know what would make you happy, go for it! That's what will make it better. 33 here, still on the loop. Maybe one day I'll pick myself up and start going after what I love to do, which is music. You're lucky to have only yourself to look out for, I have a little kid, and it gets a lot harder to pursue something completely different from what I do for a living today (IT guy). Just find that passion, and go for it. If you really love what you do, you can't go wrong. (sorry if bad English) ᵇʳ

"Fear of not even trying"... boy does that ever hit close to home. I've made 46 trips around the sun and sometimes it's still difficult to get over that fear. Often our greatest hurdle in life, is ourselves. That silly little voice in your head that tells you, you can't, don't try or someone has already done it better. DON'T listen to that voice! Sometimes it'll takes a little longer to achieve what you want, but so as long as you're at least putting one foot in front of the other, before you know it you'll be right where you need to be. Glad to see you finally made it home safely. Keep'on gaming ✌😊

im not as old or as far into my career yet, but i voice the same message. Me too as a kid ive always loved games and didnt even think i ever would have the skills to make or work on games in any kind of way. but after failing in becoming an electrician (not getting hired anywhere after education) i took a chance on starting game development. and so far its worked out really good. im currently doing my last year in a masters and im getting interviews for actual developer positions, and already doing freelance programming as a side hustle. I never thought id be able to ever be this close to my dreams, and it only happened after i thought i had nothing left to lose. So do take that one step towards your dreams. You never know, it might lead you down a path you never knew even existed or was open to you.

The same simple cozy feeling I get from a nice chat with a friend, and you'd much rather get good content in a friendly chat than in a news report. Then you started Warframe, a game I had stopped playing for a few years, and reliving that awe at the various spoiler points in the game once revealed pulled me back into the game and I'm having a lot of fun at it again. Stay genuine, be yourself, and keep 'em coming. May you always enjoy what you do 🙂

8:30 100% I'm in this boat. I had just returned to Warframe after a 2+ year hiatus and your perspective helped me realize how good we really have it. I was one of those players who loved to hate on the game despite over 5,000 hours. Your review finally made me change my Steam review back to positive after ~8 years since I made the review negative after Specters of the Rail update and the trials removal.
@SmoothTurtle8402 ай бұрын
Since you were someone who actively engaged in trials, would you say Elite Deep Archimedea scratches that same itch for you?
@Felale2 ай бұрын
@@SmoothTurtle840 Just last night I was talking about this with one of my buddies while we were playing. I brought up the fact that without the rose tinted glasses, EDA really is basically trials. LoR for example was just 3 regular missions (sabotage, hijack, assassination) stitched together with some added standing on pads and hacking terminals just to make people have to cooperate, and Jordas Verdict was kind of a mess for people who didn't know the route but again it was a combination of existing mission types. I said EDA was far better than trials when you remove the rose tinted glasses, he didn't agree. There is some credence to both arguments. It is not the short, daily, team cooperation oriented style of the old trials, as you can complete EDA solo and there is no emphasis on team composition at all. EDA missions also differ weekly instead of being a set path, which is bad for people who want to speedrun as I used to, and technically they offer nothing extra that you can't find in the regular gamemodes themselves- save the modifiers. So there is a little bit of trials missing. Now that I've typed it out, I'm not sure I can call EDA "better" it's just different. There was a beauty to setting up a LoR team in recruiting chat full of players who know how to do the mission the fastest and just blitzing the thing. Complete strangers but there's a level of unspoken communication through actions and loadout picks. I still have a friends list full of people who would run LoR daily and I found them all in recruiting chat. It was essentially a void keyshare of old since someone had to make a key.

Congrats on your success man! What I always find fascinating is to see how all the "mistakes" one has made throughout life, things you have tried but either didn't work out or you didn't like, will, if given the chance, all come together and create the life you actually love. One learns so much and at some point in your life you get the opportunity to put it all together! Take that opportunity and run with it, just see what comes of it and MAYBE it will work out, but if you never try how could you know. Just try it out and see, otherwise you'll always regret it. I hope this video will inspire some more people to just try something out and betting on themselves. If only so they won't regret not trying it. Anyways sorry for the rambling congrats again and can't wait to see the yt play button behind you ;)

I recently lost my job but to be honest I never liked it because it was not for me. Stayed relatively long with 14 years of service experiences a lot, coworkers came and left. I always wanted to develop video games but I still have no knowledge and I always finding a reason why not to put effort into it and always losing track on tutorials. I have ideas and now after many years the technology is improved enough to help people like me to try it and see if it can work well. Now I am enjoying my time while searching a new job luckily my side hussle helps to get revenue but I have no expenses that much. Sometimes small things can make people happy and I am type that has low needs. I play warframe also more or less from the beginning.

For me, I feel like a lot of vocational or even hobby goals and dreams are on hold as I raise my family --- they need my support, stability, and flexibility that my job and attention provides. Sometimes I'm just too exhausted at the end or during the day to give creative energy to anything else besides work and family (I still find the few hours to play some games and unwind and relax though). On the other hand, a loving family and home was a dream of mine that is being realized in the present which comes with its own priceless fulfillment and happiness.

It feels like you're trying to experience different things in video games, and your passion is definitely coming through. There's a lot of games that people don't talk about or that I mentioned vaguely here and there, which are some of the best ever. Warframe is one of them, but for some reason, in every genre, there is also a game or two that lies in this category. Like visual novels is such a weird sell if I try to bring it up to anyone. Which is valid for all of the weird VNs out there. Yet there is this diamond amidst all the mess and the weird stuff. If you read this comment, I recommend you give a visual novel called "umineko" a look.

This touched me appropriately, I am glad for you. Step 1: Start, no matter the pace, step 2: Don't stop, no matter the pace, or alternatively, don't stop starting again if you stopped, this seems almost the secret to any kind of success. In order to sail, any ship first needs to hoist its sails in order to be carried by the wind, or any bird first needs to spread its wings in order to fly, there are numerable metaphors that apply to this line of thinking. Another common saying is "luck is when opportunity meets preparation". But the thing is, you can never 100% count on luck or opportunity to arise, the only thing you can do is try your best, try to change and adapt if you think that you are standing in your own way (eg. anxiety issues holding you back from approaching somebody). Sometimes it's okay not to succeed, even to push a responsibility towards the future, but you can do these things constructively while building yourself up, or destructively simply delaying and spiraling downwards. Ultimately everyone needs to judge for themselves whether what they are doing is contructive or destructive, and find a way with or without counsel, with or without support, to at some point manifest their own potential. I also think dreams don't necessarily need to be fulfilled, they can also simply be strived towards, guide you, help you navigate your life, be your north star. I dream for a community and a humanity that is united, wise and cooperative, that may never happen, but it inspires me to guide my own environment in that direction, and that is my primary source of meaning and happiness.

I remember when I saw your first Warframe video and the takes you had at the time. I was expecting you to quit and not realize that it's not a quick game. I saw the impatience in the views on things like crafting times and the assumption that it was just a cash grab over making things hard intentionally. Then after a while, you came up as a suggestion again with more videos about Warframe and it was obvious that it had clicked for you and I was so happy for you to have seen the amazing things in the game. That was when I clicked the subscribe button to see the rest of your journey and I have enjoyed it the whole way. I have loved seeing your takes and often seeing you put into words things that I didn't analyze enough to fully give voice to. I look forward to seeing what you do in the future and I personally don't care how long it is between videos if they are good. I'm also curious about how your takes would be on some older games that are a product of very different philosophy at the time they were created. Like Final Fantasy XI that was made during the time of Everquest and the origins of WoW, but focused on community and playing together and slow, strategic gameplay, but has had to grow as the landscape of MMORPGs has shifted to almost exclusively being single player games with multiplayer endgame

I'm happy for you. I've been watching you for some time now. I come back because of two reasons. First is that I feel that you're genuine instead of pushing some kind of persona. The second is that I think you provide.. mostly.. level-headed reasoning about things instead of joining in in the online shouting match caused by lack of respect and understanding or pure desinformation. I can say I wouldn't mind sitting down and share a brew with you and talk about things. The only other youtuber I could consider that with is Perun. What you deliver is that rare and that's most likely why others, game devs or not feels your thoughts and opinions are worth their time. So... Congratulations!

Good for you! Rewatch this video anytime you lose perspective in the future. Remember this sense of wonder and accomplishment. I enjoy your perspective on games and your ability to articulate it. I personally believe the gaming industry needs a hard reboot, and it is my opinion that we are past meaningful course correction at this point. Voices like yours are helping to make that possible. Keep up the good work!
