A big thing that isn't talked about here is pirating movies. I know this isn't what the video is about, but it really shows something. Thing is, the moment you try to watch a movie on a streaming service and you're not on a "trusted device" the streaming quality goes to a bit crushed 720P. That includes any kind of computer. If you have a computer, you can't watch movies anymore because they don't trust you enough not to pirate it. So you pirate it to have better image quality. And since the studio isn't getting money either way from you watching their work and the streaming platform obviously doesn't want you there, you stop paying for it. Netflix, Disney +, (I don't watch streaming anymore), they all do it. If the best experience is earned from pirating, pirating becomes the new standard

When I started, the Path of Building support wasn't in-browser, and that's been a game changer! The Settlers league is the best for new players, IMO, because the currency exchange is a huge deal. You can see what essences you might want to get! I would suggest trying out Awakened POE Trade to price check items when you do mapping. I balked at first but I'm a convert now. you can now very easily respec in the early game using a tiny bit of gold which you get from killing mobs. Plus just buy a dex/int/str amulet for 1 wisdom scroll or 1 transmute from vendor if you lack a skill, or quickly spec into one big node which is near every class. cheers

even tho u talked about the music of the game i think this is the biggest thing most players forget to bring up on how beautiful and amazing the bossfight music of some of the bosses are. Same goes for the voicelines of them. Top 3 Bossfight tracks imo are Sirus, Maven and Searing Exarch which is peak feeling. The best music in maps is everytime u activate / fight the "Legion" mechanic. Simply Masterpieces.

Dude , you just started. You didn't beat anything. You finally started the game. I have a kiwi from prelaunch that I still occasionally bring out when I play. It's one of my proudest purchases as a gamer because <cough, self stroking, cough> it means I was lucky enough to find this game so long ago. I'm so glad you found it. I really think you will keep coming back for years. Maybe decades. It just does what it does better than any other game. Even the ones it is modeled on. What's the point of a skill dependent dlc, if the whole game is about repeating and learning bosses mainly or dominating with overleveled characters/weapons? If you threw a fresh player straight into dlc and they'd commit to it, they'd just learn the new bosses as most people did with pre-dlc ones

why it would be different? it would be basically giving that mr0 player access to a quest beyond which he should be able to. there are reasons nodes are story specific. it allows people who play the quest to actually proceed with the quest while anyone else that doesn't care for it can't just skip through it like any other node.

i live in Brazil, i'm not rich in any way, and games on steam are so cheap now (specially on sales) that i don't see a reason to go out of my way to pirate anything, i literally have more games and DLC's that i could possibly find time to play 20% of them. i love playing my games inside steam with multiplayer with my friends who also bought the game, my progress is saved no matter if i uninstall the game, my achievements, my profile page, my total time played on my games, my screenshot gallery, guides, badges, inventory, community hub. and i can share the majority of my games with my brother through the family feature. personaly i wouldn't pirate anymore. it just doesn't make any sense, not only because i would feel bad playing a pirated copy but also because all the features i would be missing.

A point about 3rd party tools. If you rely on the developer to add all that outside functionality it rarely happens, or they have to pull resources from other aspects of their game. Look at the success of Minecraft; without the modding community and the Developers working with them, it would not be the success it is today. Several of the current features of both Minecraft and POE originally started as 3rd party tools.

10+ year veteran here. My opinion on the timegate in the foundry is that its crucial to the games survival. Sure, its annoying at times, but above all else it keeps players from just blazing through the content and "beating" it in minimal times. It means you can just hop on few a few hours a day if that, grind out a few materials &/or set something to craft, and log off for the day. Then you come back tomorrow or a few days later, and its done & ready for you to continue. Same goes for Mastery Ranks; it prevents players from just instantly blazing through the content, it forces you to soak it all in and enjoy yourself.

I imagine you are going to like Subnautica. I loved it. But: Do no play the sequel, Below Zero. It is not as good.

Speaking about stuff going back into PoE1, the boss health bar at the top of the screen is something they made for PoE2 that people wanted, so they started to put it into PoE as well.
