The Maulers hinted at this in season 1 when talking to robot they made the memory switch seamless or the clone knows it's a clone and that never ends well, implying something like this has happened before lol

“I would have thought they’d send an army after Omni-Man.” That’s the thing though, he’s only Omni-Man - the unstoppable, all powerful hero who can’t be defeated - to humanity. To the Viltrumites, so far as we’ve been shown in the show, he’s just another random military officer who deserted his post and needs a routine squad to take him down. To Viltrum, Mark’s existence is the only remarkable thing about Nolan.

He's known as the Great Nolan, but because of the Viltrumites way, they're always ready and eager to challenge and test others for weakness. They're just depicting his strength and power because they're telling his story.

In season 1 when they were talking to robot, robot asked them why they designed the machine so that they didn't know who was the original. And they said that it was better that way that they didn't know who the clone was

The change. He can't go back to being the Viltrumite he was, nor the hero of humanity. He can have everything, but at the same time he has nothing. That is why he decides to commit suicide. And he travels deep into space to find probably the only thing that can kill him.

Love the reaction, one thing i do wanna say.. the guts, head squish, mouth rip etc are all nothing compared to what happens in this series, viltrumites get seriousllyyy fugged up in this show..
