An old timer once told me that if you hook a fish, it's then your responsibility to bring it in and remove the hook. Regardless if you're letting the fish go or not. Same with old, twisted lines left out in the water. Thank you Richard for spreading awareness about being kind to mother nature.

I have caught bass up 8 lbs in creeks just like that and even smaller. One of the best kept secrets in fishing are these small creeks. Most people snub their nose at them, I'm glad they do.

A lot of times I usually use 15 lb test mono and it helps a LOT in sketchy places I can’t easily reach the fish to land them, or in areas where it’s snaggy. Usually I can straight up reel the fish to me out of the water when I can’t reach them, or if I get snagged, the thicker line helps winch my lures out of trees and stuff! For context, I’m a bank fishing guy cuz I don’t have a boat, but slightly beefier line helps a lot with inconvenient circumstances.
