I will not be surprised if someday the Nobel Prize will be given to the AI itself.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a foundational element across various domains, from the internet to gaming, and it's intricately linked with systems utilized in physics. This concept deserves acknowledgment for its role in numerous significant breakthroughs that have been achieved and will continue to emerge from its application. In particular, AI has made a notable impact in the field of physics. Regarding the Boltzmann brain hypothesis, it is a theoretical construct suggesting the possibility of a self-aware entity spontaneously forming due to random fluctuations in a chaotic system, such as the universe.

I would not be supprised if the noble prize for physice (chemistry, astronomy, mathamatics, whatever) went to the discovery for how human knowledge and/or consciousness works in (SYSTEMS)machines|computers some 40 years after the fact! They should give them a cake too, probably a bunch of other stuff. Here is a youtube video on the topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXe2amNje71ppsk

These two were not even inventors of neural nets. Hinton has in fact created nothing practical in ML for the entire carrier. Few good things routinely attributed to him (backprop, droput) just isn't his inventions. Leave alone Physics.

Consider these actionable insights from the video: 1. Learn about the significance of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to computer scientists for their work on neural networks. 2. Explore the concept of Hopfield Networks and how they mimic the human brain using nodes and connections. 3. Understand the workings of Boltzmann Machines and their ability to recognize patterns in data through principles of statistical physics. 4. Discover how the application of physics concepts has revolutionized the field of artificial intelligence. 5. Explore the provided resources to delve deeper into the work of Hopfield and Hinton and their impact on AI.

One day, we're going to regret making the human brain and body obsolete, when this causes a critical mass of unemployment. We'll finally realize we can't automate our way to prosperity forever, when no one has income to buy what anyone is selling.

It's because a lot AI researchers come from the background of physics and a lot of important concepts in neural networks are as well borrowed from physics such as the incorporation of entropy based loss. Diffusion models were as well borrowed from intuition from physics. And most advanced AI researchers today also come from background in physics. Be it latedt PINNs the KANs and a lot of bleeding edge work is also happening in combining the physics of robotics and neural nets.
