I think drop the splash portals for Mockingbird which is an honorary frog just like how the valley mightcaller is an honorary rabbit. Becoming the best frog on the battlefield and then potentially bouncing it so it can become a different best frog on a subsequent turn seems really good.

@@Goldy01 Your math is kinda wrong. After bouncing, it's a 2 mana 3/3 or even 3 mana 3/3 including the casting cost of the bounced creature. It's pretty much a downside for as long as you have cards to cast. It's only an upside in the mid/late game when you can just recast the bounced creature.

Frogs have been slaying for me. I haven't even been using pond prophet because of all the cards I get off port-mage and splash portal but maybe I'll try it. I've played with the frog that hands out stun counters in that slot, pretty decent, although can be dead if they have nothing on board because I think it's a must not a may. Also bristly bill or innkeepers talent, both get absurd and overrun anything in standard I think I'm liking them in the build. I will say I've been running three tree city and I think it's a mistake in this deck, I would advise people against it. Just never had it pop off and even if I imagine it popping off for 8 mana it's like, what do I even cast? Season of gathering to draw more stuff that's cheap to cast and that other cards were going to draw me, or start taking stuff that works out of the deck just to have big threats around just in case I get three tree to pop off... just feels unworth it I'm gonna dump it. Sorry if you said any of that I skipped around too much.

What I love about watching the Frog Decks is that they seem to be the ones with the highest skill floor. Put in the hands of an amateur they are pretty mid, but in the grip of some players they can generate some pretty absurd value.

Agreed. Lizards, is pretty much 'play lizards, turn them sideways'. Same with Rabbits. Mice have a bit more with Valiant, but Frogs definitely have the most decision making and sequencing.

I lost to that Mistbreath Elder + Pond Prophet combo in my first draft. Opponent was on the play and had that combo out on turn 2 - was pretty brutal. Also lost to that 2 mana 2/3 lord that buffs bats and birds etc. Opponent had that lord out on turn 2 and then kept curving out into more and more black/white birds (yes, not bats, they successfully drafted bird tribal). Went 1-3 in that draft, definitely a funky format.
