[Relic's Roar], [Behind The Mask], and other [Ensoul Artifact] type spells that work on creatures (they all tend to make base P/T around 4/3) HOWEVER, the effect is basically +3/+2 on a 1/1, in which case [Monstrous rage] (+3/+1 with a lasting +1/+1 afterwards) might be better value. So then [Symmetry Sage] is better value for 1 mana too, except I don't believe it's standard legal.

43:00 You see 3 there because the Floodcaller trampeled over for 2. So you had 12 from the unblocked, 2 from trample making 14. So definitely no missed lethal as if you had put the Rage on one of your unblocked creatures it would've done 15 total, still not enough to kill.

I was trying to make Izzet Otters work in standard since Bloomburrow hit. Yeah, Lightning Strike over Shock, Wrenn's Resolve and Witchstalker Frenzy was what I was missing. Now I'm crushing it on the ladder. Thanks Mesa Falcon Guy!
@MoipaZ4 ай бұрын
I did see a line to keep you alive against the bats at 40:00. If you play the talent pre combat and level it to level 2, you can get back lightning strike, which costs 1 less because of the mentor. Then you kill whatever he puts the counters on with the trigger on the stack. Maybe lethal next turn?
@Dot_Eleven4 ай бұрын
Not quite because how does he kill the Essence Channeler in the first place? 1 mana to play the talent. 4 to level it up. This leaves 1 mana left to cast the Lightning Strike but the Floodcaller is still only at 3 power which isn't high enough to kill the Essence Channeler which had 5 toughtness at the time.
@noobknights4 ай бұрын
If he had one more mana he could have just done a pre-combat monstrous rage, fetched it back, then used it on whichever creature was blocked. Alas, he didn't.

Regarding training and "when does it get better" - depends. The pain doesn't really FULLY go away in the sense that you SHOULD feel a bit of "burn" the day after if you do a hard workout, but actual pain does mostly go away in month or so in my experience as your muscles get used to exercise. Worth noting that it if you have a long break from doing specific muscle group(s), they'll likely hurt a bit if you suddenly do a heavy set on them, even if you keep training other muscles every day. So if you do the exact same set every day for a month and then switch it up, you're likely to feel it the day after. I would recommend varying the moves you do through the week so you spread the strain. It's also worth remembering to not overdo it right out of the gate. When I started going to gym actively with friends who had been gym rats for years I kept reminding myself to start it slow, yet I would regularly go for way too heavy sets to compete with my friends, ending up with some muscle pains, including days I felt I couldn't lift my hands over my shoulders. As for when does it get fun? Depends. At one point in life I was in such a bad shape that I couldn't jog even for 2 full minutes. Started slowly introducing more jogging to walks, eventually going from intervals of run 2 minutes / walk 10 minutes to jogging for an hour. Not going to lie, first 2-3 months felt like hell and it wasn't until 6 months or so before I started enjoying jogging and getting restless if I didn't go for one in a while.

I think that CGB's recent commitment to tracking his own salty rage (or lack thereof) moments, combined with experience in the past year doing color commentary for competitive matches, is creating a pretty fun vibe as he plays, wins, and loses. Sometimes he sounds like he's calling his own match from a spectator's viewpoint. I like it.

Trying to figure out if rats can work, seems like the stats are low for this meta. I feel like Mindwhisker could be helpful against wide boards in the meta and Drag the Canal helps fill the grave. I'd love to be able to kill shot with Sewer Witch because she's neat, but she's pricey and living is hard enough in this meta. Persistent Marshstalker seems... okay-ish? Maybe the Snarling Gorehound can help fill the grave? Having trouble finding the right parts to make this a good engine. I get the feeling this needs to use a lot of non-rats to work, maybe using squirrels to self-mill or adding lizard aggro tools and using the Eldraine BR rats support.

since you've played prowess otters, what do you think of the storm otter in standard. basically a combo kill.
@Joseph1254 ай бұрын
I think if you’re trying to storm off and combo kill you’re better off playing slickshot showoff with twinferno. You can plot it then cast for 0 mana to make it easy to combo off the same turn, and you can get the combo kill before turn 5. I think the scute storm otter is great fun, but I don’t think it’s the right way to build the deck.
