This was really special. The road time and excellent commentary were captivating, as always. The video of the grey seal was a special addition. Something that I keep forgetting to mention is the drone and video transitions which are absolutely professional in every way. I love the music and video combinations. The drone footage is really well done and the brief cutaways to road riding and back to drone are spectacular. Well done my friends! This Ireland trip has been so good.

Hi Jim! We really appreciate your comment, this episode was a special one for us too. Seeing nature and animals in their natural habitat is always a highlight for us. Thanks also for appreciating the Montage sections -they actually take the most time to find the right song and then arrange the footage to the music. The heading West Tour was a wonderful experience and the UK and Ireland really surprised us. Catch you in the next one 😎👍

I hate signing off on your final Irish video. You’ve done us proud with your excellent photography and enthusiastic commentary. Your series will encourage other bikers to follow your route and support the local economy. I just hope that they have time to sample more local eateries than you - pubs do great food and the WAW has helped that sector to grow. Thanks again.

Hi Brian, yeah the Ireland stage of this tour is over too soon! So happy to hear we showed Ireland off in a good way. Yeah we hope it does inspire people to come and explore Ireland and support the locals. Most people don't tour at our pace so will for sure stop for breakfast lunch and dinner 😉 -for us we need to make the most of the time we have and find restaurants take up too much time ...they are also usually closed by the time we arrive at our destination 😂 Thanks again for watching and if you know anyone that would also enjoy the series feel free to share it 😊 Hope you enjoy the next stage of the tour ....Scotland 👍

We're relatively local and my wife and I took our bikes round same part of coast road a few weeks ago. Have to agree with your feelings of disgust at NT pricing. We had a similar experience, a few miles on from the causeway, at Carrick-a Rede rope bridge which we hadn't visited since admittance was free, many years ago. Anyway great video guys and glad you got such fantastic weather.

Great video, the causeway is a bit of a trek alright. As you said the story goes that the Irish giant Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn MacCool), from the Fenian Cycle of Gaelic mythology, was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner. Fionn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channel so that the two could meet. That seal footage was awesome. The drone shots are so good.

It was a grey seal, they can get very large. I live beside Cushendall, i notice you went down the Antrim Coast Road, perhaps you went through Cushendall to get onto the coast road. I also noticed that you took the turn off from the coast road to get to the motorway that goes to Belfast. That's the way I always go and few people seem to know about it. Really good video, well done.

Great to see this part of your Irish tour, I'm blessed to have the Antrim coastal road on my doorstep, which I ride often, and although you were very much pressed for time, heading off the coastal road, into the Glens of Antrim, is very good biking roads, I normally do a loop of Coast and Glens, maybe another time, you will return. Before the building of the visitors centre, it was free, just a small wooden hut, where you could buy gifts etc. There are free ways to see the Causeway, as mentioned by others, Also Family tickets are around £42, and 1 parent family ticket is approximately £22, both of which will get you into the visitor centre and all the audiovisuals, and more importantly the gift shop for Emily lol. I always tell my guests, how to save on the expense, if all they want to see are the rocks etc. Anyway, great video as always, happy to see my local roads on camera with you guys, evening is the best time, very little cars etc, as it is a nightmare at times during the day. Not sure if you noticed the Maidens, out in the sea, just as you turned off the road to head to Belfast, they are 2 rocks, one was the old lighthouse, the other has the newer lighthouse, The old lighthouse has a large colony of seals on it, which I see when out fishing, great to see so many of them and their pups at breeding time. Thanks gain for the videos, highly entertaining, great craic and beautifully filmed, I'll look forward to Scotland now :)

A brilliant concluding video of your time in Northern Ireland. I found your footage quite surreal, as I live in Carrickfergus at the start (or end!) of the Coastal Route, but your journey simply reminds me how fortunate it is, to have this road in my own 'backyard'! As always, you've captured the scenery superbly and that sea lion performed impeccably! Sorry about the extortionate costs at the Giants Causeway......it is a rip-off, influenced by the cruise ships that call into Belfast and the associated passengers that book coach tours to visit the North Coast. Nevertheless, thanks again for a superb vlog and I wish you both continued safe travels.

The Seal (as we realised when we got back to the Hotel and numerous people have informed us lol) was awesome and put on a great show, a real highlight of the day! It wasn't too bad really as we parked elsewhere, but for a family to go it's ridiculous -still must a good money maker for the area. The next part of this series will be Scotland!
@stephenblair52364 ай бұрын
Locals tip, but not so good if you're pushed for time.. Free car parking in Port ballintrae, to the west of the causeway. Drop down onto Runkerry beach and follow the clifftop path which is stunning in good weather and brings you to the causeway, emerging behind the hotel. Drop down into the main bowl of the causeway and tbh that's as far as you need to go to see the best parts. If you're up for it walk on past that and take one of 2 paths up to the cliff top above the causeway and make your way back to the visitor centre from there. Stunning views again but not good unless you've decent footwear, not motorcycle boots!

The Causeway is still free to visit, the NT try to block the entrance with their cars and buses and then charge you to walk through their tea room/visitors centre, the NT have been fined for their illegal charging before

It's funny that you think prices of attractions in the UK are so expensive, but you live in Switzerland! I was in interlaken last year and the Jungfrau railway trip was £100 each!. The UK is cheap compared to Europe.
@SeanandEmily4 ай бұрын
The Jungfrau experience takes you to a height of 3,454 metres via a gondola and a train tunnel that took 16 years to build through the Eiger mountain, the expense to maintain a facility like this in the extreme conditions is huge, summiting this peak is not really comparable to the costs of a walking path to a natural formation. Obviously we can't speak for your experiences but having travelled to every country in Europe in the last few years we can assure you the UK is in no way cheap compared to Europe. For example on our way to Calais we stayed in a couple of hotels each costing 40euro - there was almost no options like this during this trip. This 4 week trip to the UK and Ireland cost us the same if not more that than when we toured Norway and the Baltics.

it was a grey seal ,they are no native seal lions around these islands.The difference is sea lions have visible ears and can fold there back flippers and walk on land whereas true seals can't they can only move on land by hauling themselves forward with there forward flippers.Many people get that wrong .

It is Giant's causeway not because of the size but because of the story of giants related to this place. And they should change the name to "Giant Cost, why?" Didn't you go to the suspension bridge in Carrick-a-Rede?

Yes we know…..it was a joke and go onto tell the story of the giants.

@@SeanandEmilythat yarn about competing giants is not a genuine legend either: it is a bit of Victorian hokum, probably invented in the 19th century when tourism was becoming a thing. The original name for the stones translated from the Irish means “the stepping stones of the Fomorians” who actually do exist in mythology as an ancient race of pirates. No mention of giants anywhere. I agree that the National Trust are really milking it, and many people have paid them lots of money when they didn’t have to. Also the place is so hyped up by tour operators that visitors are somewhat underwhelmed when they actually get there. Dr Johnson was probably right.

The Causeway is an absolute rip off for what it is, a few small rocks on the sea front. Agree with you that it is disgusting with ita set up. The North coast is a spectacular ride on a good sunny day, lucky ti have it on my doorstep.

Yeah it's a shame places like this become corporate but I guess it brings a good income in for the area. Yeah we really enjoyed the North Coastal ride and it was the perfect way to end this tour of Ireland.
