What does he do for the water damaged teak under the cabinet at 20:18? I have a few spots on my boat and wonder if they sand and restain or replace the entire piece of wood. If the wood is replaced it’s a piece of wood that is 3’ tall by. 12’ long so I’d like to not replace the wood if possible.

I think there could be a great business for you working with these guys. Potentially two main ways: 1) You as a middle man for repair and maintenance work for western clients. 2) You and them sourcing insurance right-off boats, not overly damaged, but too expensive to fix in a western port. Repairing and selling them.

I have been working with boats for 30 years and I just wanna give you an advice. It’s better to Fiberglass your old holes, even though if they are not so big for safety reasons, you will grind on the outside ledge Philadelphia fiberglass matting from the outside and on the inside, you give it a couple of layers too. Good luck with everything. I imagine you are already on the way too. I am on my boat not far away from you Virgin Islands crossing red Atlantic.

Tyvek building wrap or suits might be effective breathable filters for sanding exhaust or boat openings. Saw one guy using it as a jib sail Did buddy really remove ALL that caulk bent over like that...? I've been following another channel that has standpipes above the water line at every thru-hull such that they can service them without hauling out...maybe you could too.
