The program was set up as a supplement. It was never to feed your entire family for the month but provide some assistance. I think if you are able bodied to work you should be mandatory to work in order to receive stamps but in her case she probably doesn’t have transportation and probably can’t afford child care.

You asked a question/statement about INFLATION and cost. i am a single person and the COST/INFLATION is hitting me hard so I can only imagine those with kids. When thing that used to be between $3-5 are not almost $10 to 20 for the SAME DARN THING YES OH THAT IS A BIG DEAL. When you only have a BUDGET OF X DOLLARS and when 1 item is taking 1/8 to 1/3 of your budget THAT IS A BIG DARN DEAL. I went to Walmart the other day and got a few things that was $75 and I had to take $10 out of my other budget just to get those few things yes that is a big darn deal. I went to Sprouts last night to get some fruit and veggies that $45 + dollars that was a big darn deal because pre-Covid those same things would have cost me $25 -30 at most. If those who have not notice they are trying to get off the back either $2.50, 5 or 10 off the bat from you. Do not go to a restaurant that $20 + per person and a darn drink going to cost you $3 (that is DOUBLE THE PRICE). Gas for my car is $4.30 per gallon and I put $40 in the darn thing did not even click OMG so yes INFLATION/COST OF EVERYTHING IS A BIG DARN DEAL.I am cutting back on everything to stay AHEAD OF THE INFLATION/COST and save myself some money and headache. Just FYI the STRUGGLE IS REAL FOR THE FOREAL
