I think the problem with Hezune's diagram from an internal (That means the pre-existing rules of the nobody/heartless split) view is that it seems like the only layer that matters during a split is the top layer. The only exception being Roxas looking like Ven, since Ven had no body *heh* to split into a heartless/nobody, he put his form into Roxas. But I think we all forgot the detail that Sora didn't get his body back until KH2's prologue, So Sora's been a Heartlees in the shape of a human for a game and 2/8th's, and just like Hezzy said, Vanitas did the time travel after the four-way split at the end of KH1 and fixed himself up a new body from the negative emotions. (Vanitas is also probably where Roxas gets his mean streak from)

Not long after he became a heartless, he wandered his way back to Kairi, whom used her power as one of the seven princesses to bring Sora back. It was kinda a big deal, as this resulted in an instance where someone was whole, but had a nobody. Hell, even Ansem the wise said that it was unusual, and he's an in game character!

@@dangerouslysafe3 Not only this but at the time of the split near the end of KH1, Vanitas is not in Ven's heart. The whole reason Ven's heart was in Sora's is because it was so beat up and damaged after having the darkness in it ripped out. Vanitas and his appearance in KH3 has nothing to do with the split in KH1. Taken from the wiki: "The guidebook Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Ultimania clarified the connection, stating that Roxas and Ventus look alike because Ventus's heart entered Sora's body, and that Ventus's presence influenced Roxas's appearance when he was created." I also don't think Ventus can have his own nobody because of the special circumstances surrounding his heart and body. Sidenote: Also the game is pretty clear that Roxas is Sora's nobody and not Ven's. He just uses Ven's appearance. There really isn't a reason he uses Ven's appearance other than they probably thought it was a cool idea when making BBS.

See, but the problem with doing that to the base story as it was before DDD, is that he couldn't do the split more than once. Then again, that could be a good set up for how craft Xehanort is, figuring out ways to separate the 7 lights to weaken them for the final confrontation to the point that He could take them all at once because of how strong he is and much weaker everyone else is. Although Saying that now, *after* KH3, He already did that to pretty much everyone of the lights except Lea.

They don't create a body. Nobodies are just the bodies of strong will people who fell to heartless. So only one nobody is created normally. I think the reason why sora created two nobodies is because one the hearts was a princess of hearts heart which have shown that princess's can create a new body for a heartless. Take note that the other princess's heart created a keyblade, with the heart in the blade being where Kair's heart would have been if not for sora, and since keyblades are basically a persons heart given form it is safe to say that the princess's of light can do a lot with just there emotions. So when kari's heart went out of sora it evedentally created its own body to put it self in but her heart immediately went back to her so the body itself created a new individual heart that had its own powers.

Don't forget the newest confusing plot twist that sora is noctis's nobody/heartless after beating Remind you fight yozora and get a cutscene which is identical from one of the trailers that noctis was in and yozora straight up says "this isn't what I usually look like" after doing some research sora translates to "sky" and yozora means "the night sky' both sora and yozoras outfits are identical with the only difference being soras has red accents and yozora has blueish grey if you were to fuse both colours together you'd get purple which is the colour of royalty which is what noctis is boom kingdom hearts franchise is a fucking dream sequence conjured up by noctis sleeping in his fucking car that's what I've put together XD

Totally accurate, except you forgot in KHIII they study Sora's heart and reveal he contains his heart, Roxas' heart, Ventus' heart which contains Vanitas' heart, and also a fourth unknown heart which has been around since before any of the others and is implied by the ending to be Ephemer from Union X who probably also has a heartless and a nobody after Sora's mishap in Hollow Bastion and this story is terrible.

Relax, the writers of the story didn't think as much as you did.They're not some sort of almighty divine being that creats and kills when they want. You are not obligated trying to understand a obviously not totally to the end thought out story. They made mistakes throughout the story and built in plot points to fix plotholes etc.Storywise KH is a big watertank with cracks that have a lot of patches so it still is doing its purpose. You all are aproaching it too much with logic. KH is for the feels, for the emotions. Its about what people are willing to do for the ones they love and even if it means their own demise. Its about good vs evil. Its about sacrifice and friendship. Its about the will to be all powerful. And that is why people love it. You obviously love it as well. The only way to fix the holes the weird plot points is to remake the whole story. They redconned KH 1, didnt work. There are 2 many vids of this kind kinda sucks at this point to watch sry. Did you ever read old middle east folklore legends theyre really crazy KH style but they were all about the message and the lesson to be learnt at the end. even if they made little to no sense storywise. Thats how i approach KH and looking at KH this way make it flaws less visible for me and I enjoy it much more.

KH is the longest-running RPG storyline of all time, so it would be nearly impossible for ANY creator to avoid plot holes and confusing lore implications when you're writing a story over so many installments. of course it sounds confusing when you try to analyze nearly 20 years worth of story at once and condense it into a neat flowchart. watching this video really just made me think of that post that basically says 'cinemasins has ruined the way that we analyze media'. no offense to the person who made this video, but sometimes, going out of your way to find plot holes and overcomplicate things that are rather simple in the actual series is just a bad way to present your media analysis/criticism. a good story doesn't have to be completely watertight from all angles. it's a fantasy series, and the audience is expected to have some suspension of disbelief. like you said, the magic of KH is found in its gameplay, characters, and emotionally driven storytelling. when combined with the plot, all of those aspects work in tandem to create the series that has left an impact on so many people. stripping the plot of all context and chronology, making leaps of logic that aren't even confirmed in the games, and going 'oh look at how confusing this is, it's obviously bad writing' is a lazy way to analyze any form of media, and is quite overdone specifically in regards to KH.

Your confusion stems from how nobodies are created. Roxas, Namine, and Xemnas are all special nobodies, albeit Roxas and Namine are more special since Kairi was a princess of heart. Special Nobodies are brought about by special means and as we can see they don't look like their Somebody counterparts and they have their own personality. Disclaimer: The following is conjecture based off ultimania's and in-game lore b/c Nomura is very careful about not backing himself into a corner. Roxas looks like Ventus because of the linked connection Sora shares with Ventus. If it helps think of quantum entanglement. When Sora was a baby and Ventus was first broken by Xehanort they became entangled. Roxas' "form" was in a superposition state upon creation and it wasn't determined until after he "awoke" in Twilight town; by that time Sora's heartless had already been purified by Kairi so Roxas awoke with Ventus' features, not Sora's. I call it Schrodinger's Roxas. If Kairi hadn't intervened Roxas would have been borned in Hollow Bastion alongside Namine and he would have looked like Sora. However, since Kairi did intervene this action thrusted both Roxas and Namine to the Realm of In Between. Namine was sent to Castle of Oblivion and Roxas to Twilight Town. Normal nobodies retain their memories, however, Roxas is an amnesiac; all of his memories as Sora were sent to Namine, but Namine had all of Kairi's memories already, which is why she can control Sora's memories in COM. Namine's appearnace is also loosely based off of Kairi since she is her nobody, however, since Kairi's body did not fall to darkness Namine used Sora's body as a vessel for her creation. Also your confusing how heart storage works, Nomura is very particular in his interviews. This is how I interpret it, Sora's heart "contains" within it Ventus' heart, which in turn also contains Vanitas'/Darkness' will [note: Vanitas / Darkness never had a heart, they're a manifestation of pure negative emotion], because Ventus' heart was fractured and could not survive on it's own; however, Sora's heart in kh1 did not "contain" Kairi's heart it was just being held within Sora's body i.e. "sharing" his body. For example, you could move her heart to an empty husk and it would be able to move the body, as seen when he releases her heart and it goes back into her body. This is just like the situation with Master Xehanort and Terrra. MX originally planned to enter Terra's body and fully consume Terra's heart by plunging it in darkness; however, Master Eraqus predicting MX's plan sent his will into Terra's heart to protect him, i.e. being "contained" within, [he would cease to exist if he left Terra's heart see KH3 ending]. This prevented MX from fully consuming Terra. So they both "shared" the Terra-Xehanort body. You also have to note that a heartless and nobody are created when a heart has fallen to darkness, but that never happened during the BBS body switch. Master Xehanort willfully gave up his body to channel his heart into Terra's body using Terra's darkness as a means of travel. Compare the Sora and Xehanort scenes for more info, but it can be seen that Sora releases 7 hearts, 6 from the keyblade and 1, Kairi, from himself i.e his heart fell to darkness while the others were released, whereas Xehanort released his own and used the darkness to transport it into Terra's body. No where did Xehanort fall to Darkness; on the contrary it was the complete opposite, Terra's heart fell to darkness by allowing MX passage into his body creating the dark guardian. This is also what Luxu has been doing for centuries. The original Braig doesn't exist anymore. Luxu body swapped and consumed OG Braig, if that wasn't the case every time Luxu became a nobody it would create hundreds of nobodies and heartless. On to Terra-Xehanort's heartless and nobody, since there are two hearts there are two heartless, however, they are bound together as the dark Guardian and Ansem Seeker of Darkness. Terra's heart fell to Darkness in BBS but a nobody was not created because Xehanort had taken control of his body at the time. When Ansem aka Apprentice Xehanort fell to darkness Xehanort heartless and nobody were created using Xehanorts heart and Terra's body. Terra's nobody was not created during this time since his heart had already fallen to darkness. The biggest stretch would be this but this make the most sense to me and with Riku there is very little information I can find. So regarding Riku, in KH2 the explosion of the fake kingdom hearts "magically" expunged Xehanort's hold over Riku's heart so he was reverted back to himself. So there are no traces of Xehanort currently within him. Also Ansem is a heartless so even if he was in Riku he wouldn't create a nobody, he would just be released. Repliku is kind of complicated, since he already faded into darkness in COM, but as of KH3 he faded into light so I want to assume he's gone for good now. But I wouldn't be surprised if we find him in unreality as a partner character since Riku is going to Quadratum alone. Also Xion isn't Sora/Kairi nobody offspring, she was a replica created by Vexen who stole Sora's memories of Kairi who eventually developed her own heart and appearance from interacting with Roxas. So she's technically not related. She's like a 2nd cousin thrice removed. I hope this clarifies things there's no VentusJR/VanitasJR/Xehanort SRJR/Raqxsue/AnsemJR/ReplikuJR. TLDR; maybe? A heart falling to darkness creates Nobodies and Heartless. This all relies on the fact that beings within hearts can't produce nobodies because they are too weak to live outside a heart as seen by Ventus and Eraqus. VentusJR impossible. Ventus' heart is within Sora's heart. While Kairi's heart shared Sora's body. Key difference. Read above for more detail. VanitasJR impossible. Vanitas' will is within Ventus' heart. Also is already a being of pure darkness. XehanortSRJR impossible. He didn't fall to darkness. Raqxsue impossible. Within Terra's heart. AnsemJR impossible. No longer in Riku as of KH2 and also a heartless. ReplikuJR unlikely but Nomura.

While I mostly agree I would say Vanitas does have a heart, while he is mosly darkness and negative emotions he was also formed from part of Ventus heart, hence why his is fractured at the start of bbs and missing a part, otherwise he wouldn't be able to use a keyblade

Death so far has been visualized as just the heart floating toward the sky as the body disappears. And I shall see myself out.

I love to watch spoiler riddled kingdom hearts videos without even playing a single game. It's the very definition of "haha what" I was very entertained to the very end without understanding a single word or abbreviation. And if I do play the games in the future, I'm sure I'll be surprised at every twist and corner as if I didn't ever saw countless 3 hours videos about the plot. Kingdom Hearts is what defines this new art era.

Not sure if this matters but the keyblades that sora and master xehanort used weren't just any old keyblades. Sora, used the "Keyblade of People's Hearts" which was made from a bunch of seperate hearts and master xehanort used The Gazing Eye (no name) which was made from the Master of Masters. Are we sure that Eriqueus would get a nobody since he got killed by terra's normal keyblade?
