"I Can't Get My Head Around It!" | Alex Phillips BLASTS Rise In Violence Against Women In UK

Talk’s Alex Phillips says one of the reasons there's rising violence against women in Britain is because the country is allowing men from countries where "women are covered up" to get in.
This comes after Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has said there cannot be a “groundhog day” of repeated violence against women and girls (VAWG), as she pledged a “major overhaul”.
The Cabinet minister said “for far too long” VAWG has been treated as an “inevitability”, adding it is a “national emergency”.
Speaking at Home Office questions, Ms Cooper told the Commons: “Our mission is one for the whole country, to halve violence against women and girls within a decade.

I am a 50 year old British man, i have a 24 year old daughter and 6 year old granddaughter, it is my lived experience that qualifies me to say that women,are far more at risk than they have they have ever been before, im from an era where a man protected a woman,willing to give his life if necessary in order to do so,,, why are we not having honest conversations and in depth investigations on why women are now living in fear. I've always avoided getting into conversation about Politics and Religion because I've always believed everyone is entitled to their own thoughts,opinions and beliefs. I've never really fully understood this right and left wing business. So I suppose that would mean I'm in the middle. Well I think they should take some time to step back and take a serious look at themselves., especially when they think about the oaths they have sworn to, that they have broken. Oaths are the same as vows which they must have also taken to be married. I feel sure they wouldn't break that vow so why have they broken or discarded some of the oaths they swore to. They have no right or authority to stand in judgement of anyone and certainly not categorise anyone. Well I'll always remain where I am and will never hate anyone ,be nasty to anyone , be spiteful to anyone and most of all try not to stand in judgements although judgement is something for the first time in my life I'm struggling with.

In the 70's I was asked if I intended to get pregnant or if I had difficult periods in an interview for a job at a COUNCIL a public body, I had my backside felt in lifts, and everyday I was hit on in some way, some humorous, which I laughed at some creepy, which I did not laugh at, I carefully chose where I went on my own, no dark alleys, a taxi home if really late, my friends and I looked after each other on a night out, no protection to be had from a mobile phone , I was paid less than the men who did the same job, I could have been sacked for getting pregnant no maternity leave, no family friendly policies, I joined with others to change this for the better, and I thought we had but today, I FEEL MORE THREATENED THAN EVER BEFORE, the two major reasons being middle aged men who insist on us all joining in their sexual fetish to dress in dresses , and men from cultures where women are treated as less than dogs, and who bring that culture with them them.

It's even more important to train them mentally. There will be many, many dangerous moments where men might try to take advantage of them. They need to be trained for situations on the street and with other adults. From love bombing to misuse of power, they must be prepared. Even a Jiu-Jitsu trainer might work with young kids for the wrong reasons. Adults need to carefully observe other adults, and kids must learn to trust their instincts and understand that not everyone who is nice, is truly nice. This should be taught in schools. But yes...

Yes, it accelerated in the 80's opening up Sunday shopping times imo..It changed the mindset around a day set a part. That had a knock on effect eventually with jobs. What we need is a detailed analysis of who is committing this violence against women. It would be easy to do and certainly irrefutable. We collate details about the age, ethnicity, origin, religion, etc. If it turns out that it's predominantly white working class athiests, then we can set about targetting the issues that cause the problems within that group. I suspect that the reason for the increase lies elsewhere, and if so, the analysis would also show that. The problem is that I don't believe the establishment wants to find out. It serves their political purpose to lean towards censorship. I'm also concerned that a culture of leniency towards child sex offenders seems to exist within our judiciary. How is it that many people are now fearful of posting opinion, while the internet is awash with perverts who share pictures with apparent impunity?

My daughter was sexually assaulted and intimidated while working in a major UK city. The majority were committed by men from a section of society that culturally have no respect for women. In worrying thing was that one drunk man was correct by his friends, whereas the other culture encouraged it or acted in a group!

I am sorry to burst your bubble with regard to teenage girls who, today , has access to all kinds of "adult" female beauty products and that it will help prevent the "ugly duckling" syndrome. Instead, they are being sexualized by a profit driven industry. And because it makes them look older than they are, the danger of being exploited, sexually assaulted and raped is frightfully high. I think mothers play a role in this. Many are unwilling to set boundaries because instead of being the adult, they want to be friends with their teenage daughters. There is no need to be in such a hurry as an adult-to- adult female friendship will naturally develop through good parenting.
