S3 E26: Okay...it's not our first horn upgrade project. But that's because we can't stand the wimpy stock horn noise on any bike. For this one, we take the Moto Guzzi V85TT Adventure and replace the stock horn for the Denali Sound Bomb Split. Check out the installation and the sound results. It's certainly the best way to get other drivers' attention.
Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe and like the video. See you next time.

It's great you are doing a video on this, since it is a real safety issue. But I have a concern with the positioning because I believe that the compressor must be mounted vertically. Also I think most people should consider the Denali wiring harness, it's not so expensive and really simplifies things.

That's interesting and understandable. We haven't had an issue with the horn working, but it's worth investigating. Also, we agree, the Denali wiring harness does simplify your install process.

The instructions say that the compressor must be mounted with no more than 25 degree variance from vertical. This is almost certainly to do with internal lubrication. I believe that the only option this leaves us is to remove the evaporation canister underneath the front of the tank. That requires remove insides of the tip valve on the tank vent leading to canister, then extend this vent hose and run it to the back, then cap off both sides of the vacuum pump that the other side of canister connects to, then cap off the manifold. Must remove left ignition coil to access the canister. All the above would be worthy subject for a future video since its highly recommended to take out the tip valve anyway.

You have a free accessories plug free under the battery. No need for a new relay ;-)

It's an European rule about horn and db ... it seems that horns and motorcycles are too loud for the hears of our politicians and our environments

Howdy. Do you have a suggestion on how I could clean the visor from the oil pan? It's getting darker and darker and I can't check the oil level anymore. I usually change the oil every 5000 km. Thanks in advance!

So how did mounting the compressor go? I note the instructions say to mount vertical as possible. How has almost a year horizontal gone? Still functioning ok??

I work at Denali. The horn could work for a few months or so if mounted on its side but once the lubricant works its way out, the horn will fail. The more you use the horn while the compressor is sideways or upside down, the faster it will fail. Also, it would not be eligible for warranty replacement if it is known that it was mounted incorrectly. That compressor spins up scary-fast in order for there to be no delay from hitting the horn button and the sound emitting. This makes the lubrication an absolute necessity.

He pretends to splash it on himself. Truth be told, it's his favorite cologne. It just burns a little.
