Petit Jean is our favorite state park. My late father-in-law was part of the CCC, which recruited young men during the depression to do public works projects. He helped build the stone buildings in the park. In fact, I was able to find him in a picture displayed in the visitor center. Thanks for sharing so much of our beautiful state!

I love that you use your RV toilet instead of replacing it with a composting toilet. I have a 2001 24ft Class C also and I'm going to keep using my original toilet and holding tank. It's not that much trouble to empty it at a dump station especially when only one person is using it. It's a lot messier to empty a composting toilet and like you said one time, it doesn't really compost. Love your videos of real life living in an RV fulltime. Safe travels Carolyn and Sadie.

I have found that the bathroom sink in ours drains into the black tank, not grey, and as you travel the trap on your sink will slosh back and forth, draining the water in the trap. This allows the smell to escape back up through the bathroom sink. I keep the plug in on the sink, and always a bit of water in the toilet stop odour from coming back.

Have a class C here, too. If you don't keep a little water in the bowl, that seal tends to dry out and get brittle, preventing the fumes from staying in the black tank. We ordered a new one and replaced it by just watching a youTube video on it. Just needed the seal and some lube to put on the seal. And gloves, of course

Arkansas is very beautiful. I moved to Arkansas from NJ About 16 years ago. I love it. When I get my van I will spend the winter in Arkansas to be with my son and NJ in the summer with my daughter and my other son. Best of both worlds. I hate what we did to native Americans. They had so much to teach us but we would rather take a culture away. Very sad. Happy you found Arkansas wonderful. People are disrespectful to just about everything we need to keep pure. I need to explore that ancestral area in Arkansas. Despite my hesitation due to my skin tone being darker than my partner's skin tone. Everytime I've visited the State it's subcultural atmosphere reminded me of the lack of progress since my maternal and paternal great grandma, Aunt, and grandma's (plural) living through their respective oppression. I guess we'll have to navigate the region hiding the fact that we're a socalled mixed couple. Your video has motivated me to go back and discover part of my ancestral Native and Black roots distinctly specific to the exact area you were in..

@@CarolynsRVLife I could not use my ceiling fan in the bathroom until after I gad used Happy Camper. My rv is a 2016 and has the tank sprayer on the black tank. I drain the tank and hook a hose up to the tank wash inlet. I rinse tank till water runs out clear. Then I empty the grey water. The tank spray can be added to your tank but not sure how much that would cost. Parts are not that expensive but labor would probably run high.

I have family there in morrilton . My dad grew up there. We even have our own family graveyard where many of my ancestors are buried. Arkansas is a beautiful green lush state, but summers are very hot and humid. Fireflies everywhere and the rivers and streams are full of water moccasins or eels. The Trail of Tears is there too outside of Morrilton.

Don't feel too bad about missing Cedar Falls Trail. It's pretty heavily trafficked, and, as I recall, is a butt-kicker. The first quarter-mile or so is straight down, which is straight up coming out. You visited areas I haven't been, and seemed more secluded. You really need to visit Devil's Den State Park in Northwest Arkansas. It is similarly beautiful, although the waterfalls aren't as dramatic. NW Arkansas has a lot of great hiking and geological beauty.

This is a gorgeous state park. We loved hiking here a couple of years ago. You just have to be careful which way up the mountain you take. There is a "friendly" RV route or a steep switchback route. Do you research if you don't like the steep switchbacks. There are gorgeous hikes and gorgeous sunsets. The falls trail is behind the Lodge. You can combine the Boy Scout trail and hike out of the canyon which makes a really good hike.
