Yuki has run more sub 2:20 marathons than anyone else, something like 110 of them, and he's won nearly 50 of them. He can bury himself at the end of a race like virtually no-one else. Pushing yourself to your limit on a marathon is called zipping up your Yuki suit!

Some correction for your content here: Only top 2 of the MGC have secured their Olymipic appearance, while the 3rd, Suguru "Sugar" Osako's spot is not secured. Based on the rule of MGC, if any Japanese runners run faster than 2:05:50 in the next 3 Japansese marathon majors, Sugar's spot will be taken - If more than one run faster than 2:05:50 then the fastest will obtain the spot. If no one breaks 2:05:50 then Sugar will go to Paris. Hense the MGC is one of the most critical Olympic marathon trials.
@jasperherr8694

It's true. That was what Suguru Osako did for Tokyo Olympics 2020. He didn't come in Top 3 during the MGC trials and so had to run a fast one at Tokyo Marathon to get his spot as the 3rd representative.

To start off with, no doubt he's an absolute legend. But I think what he's proven here is that he's a specialist: he can win when the conditions are exactly right. In rainy weather, he has an advantage. If Japan can send three marathon runners to Paris, it'd be great to give him a chance to shine for the (not unlikely) event of a rainy marathon.
