As a whiteboy, born and raised on rock n roll in Canada.. I'll never forget hearing soul/Motown for the first time. It changed/saved my life. Otis redding, Sam Cooke, James Brown, the temptations, the supremes, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, and on and on. It makes me sad knowing this kind of music is "history". Feels like the world can use this beautiful music more than ever. Great reaction as always!

Just an FYI, this isn't a documentary. It's a biopic (biographical picture), meaning a movie which is a fictionalized take on real life people and/or events. If it involves actors, it's not a documentary.

This was not a documentary it is a biographical tv mini-series about the band. Diane Ross was later be Diana Ross of the Supremes which started out as a the Primettes, the sister band for the Primes. Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams from the Primes would join Otis's band to become the Temptations. The group actually did last longer the most groups over the decades with different members over the years. Otis was with the group for the longest time.
@malotonga495713 күн бұрын
fun fact kendrick lemar is named after eddie kendricks because he said eddie was his moms favorite singer from the temps plus if you havent watched the jacksons american dream movie you should watch it next. if you like falsetto listen to some delfonics. sad easter egg or fact is that tami and marvin had a relationship but wasnt anything serious but if it was tami would of been alright the man in the blue shirt in the picnic scene is marvin gaye.

Fun fact: Hitsville USA; the original headquarters of Motown records is now known as the Motown Museum in Detroit. It's currently going through a multi-million dollar expansion that set to be completed in 2026. Otis Williams, the only surviving member of the original Temptations along with several other Motown artists from that era including Smokey Robinson was back in Detroit about a year or so ago as they was celebrating the completion of phase 2 of the Motown Museum expansion.

Hey MJ, real glad you reacting to it. Before you dog on Ruffin, you should know that David Ruffin is considered one of the greatest voices in music and R&B history. The Tempts had a BUNCH of major hits when David was lead. The lineup of David, Eddie, Paul, Melvin and Otis is considered “The Classic Five” of Temptation lineups. Eddie had a number of hits and Paul had a couple too but David was the known lead. You’ll see in the next part with Dennis Edwards who replaced him, they had a bunch of hits as well but not quite as legendary overall as with David. Never just go by a movie that can only show a couple of hits at a time. Some of Eddie’s hits were My Girl, Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, I Wish It Would Rain, Beauty’s Only Skin Deep, Since I Lost My Baby, I’m Losing You, All I Need, etc. l all David lead songs. Eddie lead on multiple hits too like The Way You Do The Things You Do, Get Ready, Ny Everything, etc. With Dennis, they had more collaborate hits like Cloud Nine, I Can’t Get Next To You, Just My Imagination, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Ball of Confusion, etc.
