David Ruffin was a human being. He was always approachable willing to take a picture or give a autograph. We have to remember entertainers go through a lot of stress in a business that could be ruthless. Just like when we were on our 9to 5 we had a lot of crap that was tossed on us. But the one thing that never can be taken away from David. He was with the Temptations for 4 years and he left a huge mark in the industry. We all go through and have fall short from the glory of GOD. Thank You David for taking time out for your fans. Eddie Kendricks always took time out for the fans too. I am bless to have pictures taken and autographs with the Temptations. But Eddie & David always showed interest when kicking it to the fans. Doing the reunion show in Philadelphia. David, Melvin and Eddie was so amazed how the old fans still were coming to see them. Did not see Otis around but Dennis came out. Otis is still given honor to them. I wish others were still alive.

It's sad how addiction affects kids. Could Ruffin have been robbed and taken out? Yes. But that's a part of living in that world. The kids don't want their father remember in that way. Robert Townsend said in the Five Heartbeats documentary that when he was approaching Ruffin about being a consultant for the film that he was clearly on drugs. Him and Keenan Ivory Wayans talked about putting him in a rehab after the film, but he passed. There are videos of Ruffin during that time on stage visibly going through addiction. It's just a sad situation...
