I actually disagree that sonic and megaman are the same. they only have similiarties in being blue. Sonic is a good guy but he's also carefree and sassy. He'll save the day but also joke about it and call the bad guy names while punching him in the face. megaman's too...generically good and nice (in the games) to say if he even HAS a personality at all. Except for the one time where he was totally gonna kill Dr Wily after having had enough of his bullshit.

I do agree on them being different, but disagree on Rock having no personality, you say generically good but I'd say just a nice kid, courageous and diligent (gotta keep in mind he has zero freedom of choice though, he is at the end of the day a robot after all)

tbh the comparison between megaman and sonic are insanely different and they aren't the same, again the only thing is just them having the color blue. sonic is way different than megaman, and both are not the same. Knuckles had super-strength, Sonic and Shadow can use their bodies as weapons and Tails technically uses guns but as a part of his transforming mech-plane. Shadow is not realistic, he just tries to look cool by using guns but he cam casually create energy spears out of thin air. 14:43 yeah no. Sonic doesn't save the world because he's a good guy like Megaman. He does it because he finds it fun and hates any form of oppression. He likes freedom, he's carefree, he doesn't care that some people may consider him a bad guy for what he does as long as he thinks he does the right thing. He's more like Goku eho just likes training, fighting strong guys and has a sense of justice but he doesn't consider himself a hero. But not Megaman who's programmed to be a good guy outside of one time when he snaps. I'm not even talking about the abilities, their main defining features. So you're wrong, go play some Megaman. 21:41 that's just free camera mod they installed, you're not supposed to see them despawning. Same with all the heads and faces disappearing 23:56 yeah but Sonic (and Shadow) think that cars and bikes are cool. That's the whole reason they use them occasionally. 27:45 Ah yeah, because it's so easy to mod in the character in a game that never released on PC that way so he would appear in in-game engine cutscenes and CG ONES. A good chunk of that video is unwatchable btw but you probably already know that. 57:30 There's Sonic Drift 1 and 2 on the Game Gear. There's Sonic R on Sega Saturn and PC. There's Sonic Riders, Sonic Riders Zero Gravity and Sonic Free Riders where the characters use hoverboards. There's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed which are more of a Sega game and not Sonic since it features multiple Sega IPs. Also Team Sonic Racing which is the most recent one. And there's also Sonic Rivals 1 and 2 which are a weird platformer and racing hybrid exclusive for the PSP. 1:09:00 there's a bunch of evil Tails' actually. There's an alternate evil version of Tails from an alternate dimension called Miles from Archie Sonic comics. There's Nine, an artificially enhanced Tails from the universe where Sonic didn't exist who becomes a main villain at the end of Sonic Prime. And there's also a lot of evil artificial doppelgangers like Metal Tails or Tails Doll. Sonic Rivals 2 also had a ghost replica of Tails. So even if Tails didn't had it as bad as Sonic, he still had a few evil ones. 1:11:45 Rouge is an anti-hero. She's a government spy who is obsessed with jewels and gems. For some reason though lately Sega tries to make Rouge an actual hero, hanging out with Sonic and even giving her more of a teenage attitude which is weird since she's supposed to be one of the more mature characters.

To summarize, Shadow still doesn't remember his past after the events of Sonic Heroes, an alien warlord called Black Doom wants him to lead the invasion and Eggman tries to gaslight Shadow into thinking he's another one of his Shadow Androids he built to replace him. Those are the events that happen in every route and then fast forward to the Last Story, which shows Shadow got the emeralds one way or another. Black Doom reveals he offered Gerald his DNA to create the ultimate lifeform, but he didn't know the latter realized it was a bad idea and was planning to use the Eclipse Cannon to destroy the Black Comet (which is his base). At the end of the game Shadow decides to leave his past be.

Counter argument for "Sonic is Mega Man but a furry": Can Sonic launch projectiles in his base form aside from using himself via spin dash? No. The one argument you can have for Sonic and Mega Man for similar abilities they can collect (not counting the chaos emeralds for Sonic as it's a transformation a la DBZ), is specifically for Sonic Colors and ONLY Sonic Colors... and I guess Sonic Superstars. Mega Man can't run fast whether immediately or gradually from momentum. He has his slide and if he has weapons that can double as additional traversal options it's always in short bursts. This is also the case for Mega Man X cause he can dash instead of sliding and wall cling. Also Mega Man can traverse underwater for long periods of time (as well as X) while Sonic can't due to canonically drowning in-game. By that logic, that would make Shadow the Bass of the Sonic franchise but far more reckless, and without a tragic backstory. That would also make Knuckles Proto Man. There is no Tails counterpart to think of honestly...

The same? Not really no. Sonic has attitude and seldom listens to others except when it comes to life or death situations. Mega just wants to right the wrongs Dr. Wily presents to the world through Dr. Light's guidance regardless even if it take a toll on his body. At the end of the day, many robot masters are either taken and reprogramed by Wily to do evil, and not of their own volition except for the ones he canonically builds from scratch. Personalities aren't one in the same. I am not sorry.

yes sonic was in the game. the way it works is shadow will have two characters following him as he journeys through a level, a cting as the representatives for the differents paths he can take and OCCASSIONALLY helping with enemies sometimes. in the first level sonic is the good side and tells shadow to kill all the alien invaders, while the one eyed tenetacled mosnter (doom's eye) tells him to kill all the GUN soldiers (who are, nominally, good guys). of course shadow could jsut say "fuck you both" and jsut go to the chaos emerald at the end of the level.

This game was a weird one. The campaign was a 1.5 player game, mostly because you could plug a second controller in and play as the morality character for the most part. Then there was the split screen multiplayer mode with about 4 variations of Shadow and a few chromed robot versions of Shadow with a weapon permanently attached to their arm Megaman style.

I faintly remember playing the multi-player of this game I don't know how since I don't know where. But I remember PvP Robots, mechs and one map that was basically 2 wide ass hallways with 2 "elevators" (grabby things you can grab onto to go up) at each end.

for the record some of these glitches are likely a result of playing on PC rather than the actual playstation, i never encountered that glitch with sonic's face disappearing in the cutscene when playing the original game on PS2

While they are playing on an emulator on pc, they're actually running the gamecube version of the game, and between the two best emulators for the ps2 and gamecube, I have found more issues on the gamecube emulator, so that might be another reason why.
