In today’s Pokemon challenge I go shiny hunting in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Pokemon scarlet and pokemon violet introduced a bunch of new shiny hunting tools that I wanted to test out in a hardcore pokemon challenge. This shiny hunting challenge run took an insane amount of time to finish and I would appreciate it if you liked and subscribed :).

PSA: If you're doing a mass outbreak, and you decide to continue later, be sure to save, close the game, and then change the time on your switch to a few minutes after midnight that day. Therefore, the clock won't switch over to the next day for another 24 hours. Also, you can just turn back the clock one minute instead of advancing a full day when rerolling outbreaks.

Messing with the clock period changes the spawns. I moved the clock back from 11pm to 10pm of the same date to try and prolong the dragapult hoard i was trying to get a shiny from and it made the mass outbreaks change

You need to safe and close the game before doing that. That should keep the outbreaks :)

The only thing that PSV was missing from it’s me Janice was either the shiny effect or noise from Arceus. There’s no random encounters and some of the pallets are so close to normal it’s a joke, there’s not even an icon outside of the boxes to tell if they’re shiny or not.

You don't need to count 60 Pokemon as you defeat them. Simply defeat Pokemon until the second pop-up. You'll first get a pop-up saying the number is slightly lower. After some more defeats, you'll get one saying the number of Pokemon (in that outbreak) is obviously lower. I haven't tested if the 30 and 60 Pokemon thresholds line up with those notices, but either way, it's a much easier way to keep track. I've been using that easier method for ages now and I'm into my third box of Shinies now. Another note many PokeTubers haven't clarified on, that I've seen anyway, is that if you're wanting to adjust your Switch time to skip outbreaks, you don't need to skip an entire day forward or anything. Granted, this method is a bit wonkier (as in, sometimes it doesn't register for some reason). From what I've tested, you go into the nearest city or major area closest to the area you want an outbreak in. Go to the system time, make sure it's not tied to online/automatic timing, and then with the time-changing menu open, wait a minute or two (you don't even technically have to wait that long, but waiting a few seconds this way hasn't been as effective for me). After waiting a few minutes with the time/date-changing menu open, click okay and nothing else. Go back to the game and check for new outbreaks/the notifications for them. Both methods are equally annoying to do when it comes to waiting or messing with your system times/date massively, it feels. I have little tweaks to the method since it definitely weird and doesn't work 100% of the time, but it does work most of the time. I just don't want my time to be days in the future, so it's an option for people who are the same. :)

Protip for mass outbreak hunting and you have to go to sleep, set your switch time to 12:01AM that way the outbreak stays and you get a full 23:59 to sleep and hunt it still

The only shiny challenge that I've been doing is the shiny team. More like trying to get shines of the Pokemon I used in my game. So far 2/6. 3/6 if i count the pokemon ny friend gave to me
