Took Athena to the vet today as a new patient. Everyone there wanted to see and pet her. She is now 30.4 pounds.They gave me heartworm and flea & tick meds - just the 1 month. By next month, she may need the next size! Sammy isn't too happy, but he is allowing Athena to get closer before he growls. The goats seem to be a little scared of Athena. I've let her walk the fence between her and the goats, and the goats run.

We use the same med for our mischievous indoor cat. It worked great. There was a sweet stray boy cat that got dropped off in my neighborhood one year. The neighborhood collectively loved him, but he died from that tick bite disease, too. It's amazing how quickly it takes them out. I love that Russell is adopting to the farm animals. Hopefully, he is good with the chickens. Mojo heard you say tasty and ran for the back porch door to wait for his treat. 😂 he's so beautiful. God bless

Kevin I haven’t commented since before Cora gave birth but we use to raise boxers , we’d have a liter a year with 2 mamas getting pregnant every other year but I have never seen them as patient as Cora was she was really a good mama and when I seen her playing with them it was absolutely wonderful to see !!

Russell sure is sprouting up quickly. The goat's getting out is definitely a pain. Poor Skeeter about went flying. Skeeter was sitting waiting on a treat while licking his mouth.😂 Kevin we have had ticks for 3 weeks here. I already had to be on antibiotics because I wasn't able to get the head of the tick when my daughter pulled it from the back of my neck on my hairline. I ordered my chicken's they ship on April 15th, and I am waiting for a shipping date for my Guinea's. I know it's going to be awhile before they start being able to free-range but I heard that Guinea's are wonderful at clearing out bug's, small snakes, and rodents. We did have 3 days of frost here so I am hoping that it killed off the ticks. I worry more about my grandson he's 10 getting ticks. Thank You for sharing your day with everyone. Please Kevin, get that shortness of breath checked out!! High blood pressure and heart problems run in my family and my BP was out of control, long story short, got checked out in May of 2023 and unfortunately went directly from the doctor's office to the ER and spent 5hrs there and was almost admitted, borderline stroke level. But that shortness of breath is one of the signs. Im now also having to have a cardiac procedure done next week ....so PLEASE get checked out...your family needs you!! The only family I have left is my brother who lives 600 miles away but we keep in touch. God Bless and Stay Safe 🙏❤🙌

YES, PLEASE go see a cardiologist for a scan. My big, brawny husband who could do anything and worked hard was mowing our yard and had to keep stopping because of shortness of breath for several weeks. We saw a cardiologist, and he had my hubby do a stress test while watching with an x-ray. He was immediately admitted to the hospital, and they put two "Stents" in his heart going in through the wrist. GUESS WHAT??? IT WAS 'THE WIDOW MAKER'! Dude, do not wait. He was in his mid 50's. The alternative is you collapse or die, possibly in the field, and unseen for too long. Plus, you live in the woods. How quick can you get to help?

Russell is whining because he's flying solo now. It's gonna take him a while to get over it but he'll get used to just being with Mom and Dad. Glad Mojo is doing better. Hopefully the med will still do good keeping fleas and ticks off the dogs and cats. GOD bless y'all.

Russell looks bigger already! I think you may end up being Russell's person given how much he vocalizes when you're around. Kora looks like she really enjoys having Russell around. The stomach torsion or twisted gut happens when you have a deep chested dog and when you feed them dry or semi moist food gas forms when the stomach twist and they have the inability to pass gas. Happens with cows, horses etc.

Hey Kevin, I am a retired show dog breeder. I may have missed it but it is best to feed a Large Breed Puppy Food to handsome Russell. Large breeds need that to help with bone development for large breeds.He should be eating 3 times a day at his age. Get Russell some Kong and Ny-la-bone toys. Heavy duty. I love watching your videos.❤❤

I'm a small dog breeder, Rat Terriers, but isn't there a problem with large breeds, where the puppies grow too fast and it causes extreme pain in the puppies bones and they have to be fed a different dog food, because the puppy food is too high in protein? I can't remember exactly all of this, that is why I am asking.

Macy loves the tires with ropes… and the squeaky toys that are strong and tuff…and trnnis balls…and sticks… the list goes on. Ours all take Brave to and Macy had her first one following her vet visit. She will get another in one month but it goes by weight…

Hi Kevin and Family wanted to say Hello from the UK. My dogs are not working dogs and have been on Braveko for as long as I can remember without any issue until our vet changed brands of flea and tick tablets to NexGuard Spectra just before xmas and Collie Mylo has had excessive itching and scratching since swapping so having told the vets they have agreed to swap him back to Braveko again. Russel looks like he's turning into a fine young guard dog all by himself and he is so adorable, I just love the updates from the farm and want to say a huge thank you xx

Might be time to start feeding mr. Russell outside with mom n dad so he wont keep running in with the goats, also w/being a lrg breed dog he should be eating frm a raised feeder n maybe try tieing a few toys to his inside pen so mom can't drag into field. Kongs r great n u can freeze water w/veggie, fruit,yogurt,yogurt, panutbutter inside n they spend a long time lacking them clean.Always enjoy ur content n ur care n love for ur family n animals is wonderful 2see!

Kevin, please consider seeing a Cardiologist (not your regular doctor). Shortness of breath can be a very classic early sign of heart issues. I know from experience. As an RN I've seen this so many times. As a heart patient myself I denied it until it was almost too late. One reason was because it came and went and came and went. I had been sick the first time I had it so I thought it was related to the bronchitis. It wasn't. Since you're diabetic you run a higher risk. Better to be safe than sorry as they say. I pray all is well.

Marsha, I'm Sharon & also a RN who was first diagnosed with asthma & sinus infection. Turns out the SOB and fatigue after light walking was CHF. I am not diabetic and my cholesterol is considered low. Turns out it's totally genetic. Arteries are all clear with NO plaque. I think he may have some heart issues because he gets winded easily!

I agree with Kevin being diabetic could contribute. I just found out I have heart disease and almost 3 weeks ago I had SVT oblation done. My biggest issue is I ended up with a crappy MA cardiologist. I have an appointment with a new Dr next month. Maybe they will listen to me about certain meds making me feel worse! Take care of yourself Kevin!

Kevin join bark box they send out 3 toys and different treats as often as you want and they are a great price. Good made products, hard to tear up and no fibers in them. Be safe, enjoy your life and God Bless.

We used to hang the toys from the rafters in the barn from strong twine or ropes. They could play with them but not take it out in the fields. Russell misses his siblings but will adjust as he bonds with the goats and other farm animals. He's going to be a very large dog!!

I know about tick disease, I had it and covid at the same time. I was in the hospital for a week.It is not a fun disease. I make sure my lab gets her meds and wear tick repellant when I work in the garden and yard.

We don’t have ticks here, but it definitely keeps fleas away! Try a Kong toy filled with canned puppy food for Russell. Put it in the freezer and give it to him as a treat!
