I was the only one who celebrated the 25th anniversary of the premier of Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Galaxy’s Edge on May 19th, 2024. Many Star Wars fans consider this film to be the worst Star Wars.!

Episode 1 holds a special part in my heart. I have great memories of it. I just went away to college in September of 99, my roommate, his friend and I took the bus from our college to the theater. We saw the movie then learned the buses stopped running for the night. We had to walk a couple of hours back to college taking turns pushing each other in a shopping cart to take breaks. It was a great night and a fun movie. A funny thing about Jar Jar Bink, my roommate would answer the phone impersonating him for months. My wife then girlfriend hated when he would get the phone because she had to talk to Jar Jar for like 15 minutes till the phone would be passed to me.

I know I mentioned this previously, but EI holds a special place in my heart as it was the last movie I was able to see with my dad. In 2000, my ex and I were in NYC and got a 4' Jar Jar from FAO Schwartz, she loved the character. We ended up actually being able to squeeze that into a suitcase as they wouldn't let us bring that on board the plane. Well done on paying homage to the opening day!

Happy 25th Phantom 🎉... I need that shirt u have on in this Jay! I am still waiting for someone to go see it in theaters with me.. still a week later. . Ugh .. so I feel your pain. I seen it opening night at midnight and loved the same parts .. the duel of the fates is epic...pod racing wow loudly pulls u in like the seismic drops Jango does in Ep2 .. i can't wait til that one gets re released.. the Maker's years are the ultimate best, some day Da mouse will acknowledge them in the parks.. thanks for sharing.. the photos are sweet

E 1 is the part of Start Wars that makes me laugh the most. Many people hate him, but I love him for that. It also contains important basics and information about 'The Chosen One', which even the Jedi misinterpreted because they are just 'humans' and not demigods. 🤫

Power of the force the toys of Mt childhood! I also remember going to MGM for the first time and how I was blown away with the Star Tours .seeing Galaxy Edge as a kid would have blown my mind, lol . Also, Phantom Menace is a fantastic film compared to what the release today .

Bro, you are blowing my mind with all these videos. You should try the challenge theme park express did this past May 4th. Movie theatre at Disney springs plays every Star Wars movie in 24 hours and he did them all. Seems like something up your alley! Go Braves!

I do have to agree the light Saber battle in episode 1 is the best part of it, also has an amazing track in the score as well, it's probably the best light Saber battle in all the star wars movies I think up there with Luke and Darth vader in return of the jedi and the one with anakin and obi Wan in episode 3.

I’m remember being so excited for Episode 1. I vividly remember me and my buddy going on opening night. It was and prob will forever be the most disappointing movie going experience of my life. Afterward we just sat in the car in the parking lot in disbelief at the mess we just saw. There were times in one scene you had 3 different kinds of movies happening at the same time. 😂. It was tonally all over the place. I tried to watch it recently with my 13 year old daughter who enjoyed the original films was like “ what is this mess!?” 😂. I said I felt the same way when I was your age.

I liked the movie, Maybe cause I was jonesing for Star Wars return. But it was not as good as the original 3. But it did have Darth Maul. And it was cool to see the back story of Palpatine

I can't remember the year they tried to re-release the prequels in 3d. My sons and I saw PM1 .....it was really good in 3d. But they never released the other two. Kind of sad.

My maternal grandfather’s birthday is on the same date as Star Wars in ‘77 (EP 4 A New Hope)…May 25 1910 is/was his birthday. This year he would have been 106. Tampa Jay, my grandfather was a real-life Obi-Wan Kenobi….he was as wise & knowledgeable as Kenobi & Yoda. I think and miss him every day.

I loved Episode I. True, the Senate Hearings parts and Jake Lloyd's portrayal as Anakin were MEH, but yes, the lightsaber battles were amazing! I'll always love STAR WARS no matter what.

The Phantom Menace is awesome! I don’t understand what’s wrong with people that don’t like it. I love episodes 1,2 & 3 and I also think Jar Jar rules! Hayden Christiansen was amazing in it as well. It’s also my three boys favorite!

Sorry that no one wanted to celebrate SWTPM Day with you Tampa Jay. After seeing Ep7,8,&9, 1,2,&3 are golden. Just wish Lucas would've made Jar Jar A Little tougher. I'm so glad I'm sticking with Dark Horse Star Wars comics. Now Tampa Jay, your mission if you choose to accept, is to find an original N64 "Star Wars Shadows of The Empire" game and play it...until CTG gets home. 0:02

Episode 1 came out when I was a senior in highschool. I had a friend who was manager at a theater, so I got to be in the midnight premier. I sat through the movie with my eyes closed and fingers in my ears. Loved the movie, just had a migraine and didn't want it to completely ruin things. I did get to see it twice before it hit vhs.
