Could you tell us why you prefer SCHD over other similar hi-dividend ETFs, say VYM? One-year (growth + dividend) performance of VYM seems to be slightly better than SCHD......

Although they are very similar, there are a few factors. If you would like, I could also make a video on this debate or even of all dividend etfs. But VYM has more overlap with the SP500 (34%) where SCHD is 8%. I already have so much sp500, high growth, this allows better diversification. Even though short term (within 3 years) returns have been better for VYM, SCHDs historic returns 5 years and longer are better. Past doesn't guarantee future but long term success to me needs strong weighting for the decision as well. Yet alone, higher dividend payout while still achieving higher growth is intriguing to me. VYM has 551 holdings where SCHD is 103, but the ones in SCHD are all very strong and the downside risk statistically between each fund are very similar. Although I could do more research into VYM, I am satisfied with SCHD long term because of factors like these. Hope this helps clarify my reasoning more for you.

No, as of right now I also use webull and sofi! I like sofi for the defensive (dividend portfolio) as I also use their high yield savings account.

Hello, I’m trying to start investing. Honestly don’t know what I’m doing, I just open a vanguard brokerage acct. looking to start with a VOO, but it’s asking about investing my money with whole shares or a specific dollar amount. I have no idea which one I should do or does it even matter? Any advice? Thanks.

I agree about don't invest in international stocks. I use to and overtime it would have done better in the S&P500
