Just wait until you see how the plants look since making some changes! In this video I highlight some of the changes I made to the grow tent and how those changes have impacted the plants. I think you will be as shocked as I am about the results! #chmcarnivores #carnivorousplants #pitcherplants #nepenthes #flytrap #tropicalplants #plantaddict #urbanjungle #exoticplants #growcarnivorousplants #carnivorousplantcare #plantcare #carnivorousplanthelp

Great update video! If you ever have cuttings of that glabrata x aristolochoides I want one, that plant is cool.

Thank you! I will have to get some going. It grows really fast and apparently gets huge! Well the plant at least, lol

Thanks for the update... I'm very interresting in de development of the seedlings. Just 2 of off 5 have shown some grow., perhaps the temperature in to low for some of them? The N. truncate cross is doing great,, some veitchii x mollis seeds are germinating. But the other are doing nothing. I sawed most of them end November... but it's winter here and room temperature is appr. 20, but they are on top of the heater.

Hey!!! Hmmm, it might be a humidity issue if they started to grow and then are gone. I had the same thing happen with mine so it might just be part of the process. I had a whole bunch at first and now I am dwindled down to about half of what I had.

What are those black racks you use to hang plants on the walls?
@Carnivorousplanthelp
@Carnivorousplanthelp 4 ай бұрын
That is actually a repurposed shoe rack that I bought at a yard sale lol. Any kind of wire wall will do. It is great for smaller plants for sure!

You had a humidifier inside which you’ve now removed and plenty of airflow with fans but do you have any air exchange from outside the tent? I have my humidity set at 85% with two fans running for as long as the lights are on. Also have a 6” inline fan running every hour for a minute just to pull fresh air in from the basement. And not sure if you remember but all my plants on capillary trays. Great video. I’ll keep my eyes open for any signs of issues such as yours. 👍🏻

Thank you! That is a great point. I don’t have any ventilation going out of or into the tent. I have them in a grow tent that is in a garden shed. I am always nervous of exposing them to pests. Where I am in Florida, we have so many pests that want to chomp on Nepenthes lol.

Question , what's the day and night temps ? Would this grow tent be a intermediate setup ?
@Carnivorousplanthelp
@Carnivorousplanthelp 4 ай бұрын
Hey! Yeah I would consider it intermediate. It stays around 75 degrees during the day and gets a night time drop of not much more than 5-10 degrees.

@@Carnivorousplanthelp cool, I was considering getting a Robcantleyi x Hamata. And a Robcantleyi. Just trying how to get that temp drop at night. Summer here in Philadelphia is like lowland temps. idk, we'll see. I may buy them in the fall.

Yeah will def need to give them some nighttime drops for sure. Those two can be picky plants for sure.

less light, bigger and greener leaf, but smaller pitchers, as it need more photo synthesis, its greener to make more and bigger to capt more light and has less energy to pitcher... more light, less green, more color, smaller leaf but bigger pitchers, they have plenty or even a bit too much light, so the leaf are smaller to get less light, less green to make less photo synthesis and more color because it dont need to be as green to get energy and bigger pitcher because it know it has all the energy to get big so they want to trap more insect to help them do so... cephalotus is a great example, if its in low light, they are almost all green, have alots of leaf and less pitchers, but in high light situation, they stop producing leaf, they turn red purple, they only produce pitchers and bigger one. liking carnivorous plants for their colorfull carnivorous caracteristics, i prefere keeping them in a light level that is the highest possible without burning them, i run my tent at 90% humidity, but controled to 90%, it drop to 85% when its battling the air conditionner that suck up moisture in the air, but get back up fast with my 6 cells humidifier and i dont have any spots on any of my nepenthes exept my ventrata variegated that burnt a bit and spotted it on the leaf that grew with too much light, but with a bit less light, they are now ok. plenty of my plants are purple leaf without burning, i love them better than with green leaf and the pitcher jumps are wonderfull instead of only leaf jumps...

Great insight!! Yeah now that I keep mine lower away from the light the leaves are much more green. I like the red coloration too! I find that some are more tolerant than others. I try to keep the ones that will go red closer to the light.

@@Carnivorousplanthelp i keep mine at the limit of burning...lol! nepenthes should get between 100 to 200 lumen, i keep mine at like 190, ventrata a bit less as they burn easyer. even my baby truncata pasian the size of a 25c is at high light and older leaves turn red...
