I've just been looking up EMF and found this. Possible symptoms related to EMFs in the studies included: headache tremor dizziness memory loss loss of concentration sleep disturbance I would like to add some more, The urge to sit around waiting for something to happen. The craving for triangle sandwiches with crusts cut off The belief that you are being green The belief EVs are cheap to run, and all electricity is green The belief that EVs are good for the planet.

Thanks for doing this MacMaster. These RT-100s are only £40. If you want to use a GQ EM-390 and its a superb piece of kit. I live somewhere near Geoff and will lend it to him and can give you the manual and practical tips on using it. My radiation guide says levels above 3mG are not recommended for long time stay. Also it will measure RF so you can test your mobile phone and the cell tower near your house.

Try the meter with your phone when making a call. That'll provide a continuous signal as against the pulsed one from an idle phone. The meter is uncalibrated, sensitvity, frequency range, etc. not stated, no reference signal used - try it around a microwave oven door seals when running - some are actually prone to radiation above prescribed safety levels.

My late wife was in a job where she juggled several mobile phones and a laptop in her late model company car (ICE) and back in the office she had the usual desktop computer as well. Cars and IT devices in general surround us in all sorts of radiation.. no doubt EVs would add to this but it's significance would be debatable. Cancer is much more prevalent today and an EMF component may well be part of a host of contributing factors..🤔

It is the manufacturing and mining, and recycling for EVs that we need to be seriously concerned about. That, and being downwind of any kind of battery fire. My question is about ozone production from the drive motor and regenerative braking? I thought that motors and generators had little points of arcing, at the face of carbon brushes? Ozone is greenhouse gas, like CO2, methane, and water-vapor.

Well Lee mate I ma now 77 years old and have messed around with electronics since I was around 11, and various situations in which there has been EMR exposure and frankly for me at least I do not think I have had any health issues to date. But that I am assuming doesn't mean that I will not! I have my house here in Australia rigged with devices that are specific to pest control and honestly the results of those devices appear to have reduced the number of pests again for example mice and spiders. So this means that those pests have some reaction to the devices and just cannot be even close to them. Now it also occurs to me that not all people are "made" equal and any reaction may be decided on their genetic makeup??

There was no evidence to suggest that Thalidomide was dangerous either, until children were born with no arms and legs, then they stalled and fought the link for 5 years before they finally admitted there was a problem and removed it from the market. I always have huge suspicion when someone says, there's no proof of this or that in speaking about what they're doing. If there's money to be made, evidence is elusive. 🤷‍♀
@15bit62
@15bit62 26 күн бұрын
Except thalidomide was a brand new drug (which is still used, incidentally). Magnetic and electric fields have had widespread use for over a century. We understand very well how to use them, how to shield them, and a century of experience (including a lot of scientific data dealing with very high fields) to indicate that if there is a correlation between magnetic fields and health it is incredibly subtle and thus unlikely to affect anyone. If this really worries you though, i would recommend avoiding mobile phones, computers, any kind of electric cooker (especially induction hobs), most hospital equipment (especially MRIs), and pretty much anything in your life that uses electricity.

Electro magnetic fields do have an effect on people with pacemakers, so what will they do when they want everyone to have an electric car
@neilgodwin6531
@neilgodwin6531 28 күн бұрын
I have been trained to use defibrillators and that is definitely ill advised on people with pacemakers. Similarly cremation is a problem, as they will explode. However, when I've accompanied dementia sufferers with pacemakers for the regular hospital checks, they simply drape a device across the shoulder, I presume that uses a electromagnetic field to check the device is functioning properly. People with pacemakers are more at risk from microwave ovens than EVs. If you doubt it, consider the financial and reputational consequences of the VW diesel scandal. Imagine the fallout if it were established that people with pacemakers were being killed by EVs. So it seems likely to me that such hazards would have been investigated, measured and fully evaluated over many years. If you're still worried, I suggest you stop using your mobile. That's far more dangerous

Do you really know what you're actually doing? That meter (I use one at work) measures the electric field strength in volts-per-metre from the sensor in the top/front of the device. If you read what it says, it is for measuring AC electric field (so not much from your DC battery!! Just AC charging related fields). The magnetic field measurements are in milli-Gauss, and again detect at the front of the device. (You can change range to micro-Tesla). You use the word 'radiation' in an unnecessarily alarmist way. People worry about radiation from nuclear sources - nowt to do with it. Radiated field just means how the field 'travels'. Sound radiates towards you; light; etc.... Now take the device home and point it at your phone charger, TV, cooker, fuse board, wall sockets.... follow the wires along the walls as you 'will' detect AC. Nice way to waste a few minutes. You're detecting something, you don't know what it is, nor do you know the significance of it all!

If you look them up, they are considered safe, however as I posted before, you do have some effects which can be alarming, from being able to mess with animal behavior (hence why you always hear about pet owners having issues with their pets wanting to be in their EV), to some sensitive people in how they feel from excessive amounts. Really high amounts can cause cell growth and other concerning issues, but not sure how those levels compared to these.

The symptoms most commonly experienced include dermatological symptoms (redness, tingling, and burning sensations) as well as neurasthenic and vegetative symptoms (fatigue, tiredness, concentration difficulties, dizziness, nausea, heart palpitation, and digestive disturbances) I would expect a Porsche to be well shielded, you would need to check other brands to see if they are the same.

They have measured about 2-Watts, iirc, and a drop in saliva pH when using one when your are not doing the speaker-phone operation, holding it away from your ear. A galvanic reaction occurs, as arch-wire and cemented brackets are dissimilar metals. All of the gumline recession that I observe on my own mouth is in on the arch-wire side of my teeth, probably from the acids in food and its breakdown.

Wrong....a faraday cage must be sealed tight; no holes or cracks (joins) or plastic covers or VENTS to let the heat out...another modern "scientist" who cant be bothered looking up facts. Kudos on the tyres tho - not many people know that - BUT no its not flexing its the rotation of the steel belts acting like a field winding in an electric motor generating a magnetic field which can be bad. Look it up; you'll see...

Couple more things - 1) When google tells you there's no evidence that EM fields pose a danger, this means nothing. Absence of evidence is NOT evidence of absence. 2) When 'they' decide what level of EMF is safe, is this related to the amount of time spent in the EM field? While a certain level may be safe for a minute or two, is it still safe if you're in that field for hours, day after day (as happens with some battery car drivers)? There's no way of knowing if such prolonged exposure is safe in the long term, because battery cars haven't been around in the long term. Like you, I feel newsreaders in 2050 will be reporting the cancer/fertility health effects of 2020 battery cars - but, by then, for the gullible who've fallen for this untrialled technology, it'll be too late.

And all the tests they did were back in the 1950s and early 1960s there have not been any nationwide tests since that time and a LOT has changed!

Electro magnetic radiation is the one to worrybabout? A google search cannot be relied on as negettive comments on Electro magnetic dangers will have been suppressed by governments and makers of these damaging devices

If it’s claimed that magnetic fields are not a hazard to humans , then why would a device need to be manufactured to test magnetic field levels and why would it need to indicate danger levels ?.

To sell to suckers who believe in conspiracy theories? Although testers exist legitimately as EMF can interfere with other equipment and there are strict regulatory limits.

Hi Lee as ive said in the past im an ev driver but a year ago i had an icd fitted for my heart and have been advised not to sit in the car when on charge. Food for thought maybe ? .keep up your great vlogs mate.😊

They are dangerous if you have an ICD (internal cardiac defibrillator) fitted as l do. Cannot have mri scan and at airports cannot go through scanners. This is worrying. Magnetic fields are dangerous to me just had a scan cancelled due ti ICD. Also warned about use of mobiles and microwaves by NHS around ICD.

It's gotta be coming from the motor. I'm thinking inductors can cause it. This means that you should observe the highest readings during acceleration.

Not a EV but a fridge freezer, My missus put my umbrella plant/tree that my Mum gave me when she moved to Spain a few years before, (it had grown huge while id had it) on the kitchen table close to the fridge freezer, This plant was super healthy, fresh new leaves shooting everywhere, But within a month all the leaves had dropped off, literally down to one leaf....That fell off when i went into save mode, repotting it with fresh soil and moving it away from the Freezer. It was just a stick in a pot by this time. But, Now its had a few years to recover its getting big again. So dont sit next to fridge freezers!!!

I wouldn't worry about it, your device will not be accurate unless you paid a lot of money for it or it came with a calibration certificate form a recognised test lab. All the testing you're doing has already been done by Porsche, ask them for the levels in their report?

Look at top meter setting its saying V/m volts thats why not showing . proper setting should be checks on mv/m or ma/m or watts /sq m etc.. your not going to see VOLTs as such , maybe thats why your thinking all is safe.. do it again in watts / sq M and show us.
