It’s kind of disappointing that FireRed still makes you throw a pokeball to release the first Pokémon in your party during a battle… seems like a massive oversight, especially since Pokémon Yellow had the feature of having Pikachu slide into the battle screen without a pokeball animation way back in the 90s.

It’s probably because in Pokémon AshGray Ash’s Pikachu doesn’t follow him around like in the anime, but goes in the PokéBall. That’s my only complaint so far with this rom hack. Pikachu should be following Ash. Especially after Ash’s mom makes a comment in the beginning of the game about how Pikachu doesn’t want to stay in his PokéBall. Besides that though. This rom hack does follow the anime very closely!
