I Chose The A90 Supra Over the FL5 Type R | Here's Why.

I was between the FL5 and Supra as well… I end up going with the FL5 and not a single regret here. Why the FL5 over the Supra: reliability, value over time, more limited/rare, track ready out of the box and more practical. Nonetheless, congrats on your Supra!

Those are some common mis perceptions. The B58 motor is known to be extremely reliable. The Supra also is more limited than the Type R for production numbers but people think because the Type R is badged that it’s more limited. Both hold their value really well but with markups on the Type R you will never get that back out of it. Inventory is becoming more plentiful and dealers are now down to $5k over on large cities and eventually I’m sure we will see MSRP. Same thing happened on the first release of the FK8.

Good video and great color choice! I x-shopped the Supra and FL5 as well. Went with the FL5 and picked it up yesterday. Love the Supra but in the end I needed a do it all car with more utility and FL5 fit the bill.

Had a choice for a 2024 blue manual Supra used from private owner for $61000 not including taxes. Went with a brand new 2025 Civic Type R in championship white for MSRP. Fresh off the delivery flatbed. Either one is a win win.

I watched this new video posted yesterday. "A90 Supra tries to go to the MOON! Wheelie Madness | World Cup Finals 2022 at MIR." An A90 Supra did a huge wheelie at 85 degrees and still ran 8 seconds. This is the NEW CAR! EVERYONE doubted the new Supra! I never did! Legendary! The next generation of cars right now are the A90/MK5 Supra, Nissan Z, C8 Z06, C8 ZR1, and C8 ZORA! I correct before the cars released! My next car will be a Supra. I need to sell my stock 2016 Genesis Coupe when I save up enough.

I’m old so I went with the RC-F. But Supra if I was still young followed by the Z. Civic costs too much for FWD and no leather.

Type R is a heavily tracked base car, you don't want leather if you're tracking. Search any bucket seats, they're all some type of cloth. With leather, you body slides way too much on turns

@@StreetCertifiedAuto That is aboslutely incorrect and you must be a kid. Have you ever heard of Porsche 18 way sport seats? They come optional on 911's and Caymans. M/B GTS, C63, Audi RS5, BMW M4, all come with leather racing bucket seats. The Civic interior is budget basement status.

@Salim Randall lol now you're mentioning interior. Sure interior overall is cheaper, but Type R is definitely the more track inspired car. You must've never been on the track before. Sometimes I'll see drivers with leather seats at the track will lay down a layer of kitchen drawer mats just to prevent them from sliding around. I actually track. I like to feel secured, being secured increases confidence and safety.

@Salim Randall maybe leather side bolsters with center Alcantara, that's fine. I've tracked a Type R, I felt confident driving it secure wise. Nissan gtr, double to triple the cost of a Type R, those seats suck, overall interior is better sure. I would put the Type R seats in the GTR or change them completely with better Recaro seats

@@StreetCertifiedAuto LOL I’m 45 years old. I’ve been to the track 4 times all on motorcycles. I don’t track cars, because the cars I own are too expensive to crash. GEICO doesn’t cover you at the track. I have a 80K coupe and a 10K sport bike. Back to topic. Porsche 911 and Cayman come with full leather on 18 way bucket race seats. Period. Not half leather but full leather. The Civic is full of cheap shortcuts and that’s my point. I don’t care if you think you’re smarter than me. The Civic R seats are cheap with no leather and that sucks.
