I Cleared All of the Daily Roulettes for Tomestones [Final Fantasy XIV]

We're back in Final Fantasy XIV with another silly roulette video. I need 114 tomestones of causality for Manderville Relics, and since I still haven't sorted out Mentor Roulette, I figured this was the perfect opportunity for another run through everyone's favorite dailies.

29:10 I've had a 50 min Ultima run, so I can confirm, dying on phase 2 doesn't restart the encounter, it just goes back to the post cutscene time.

Yeah, like with (IIRC) all multi-phase boss fights, you restart at the beginning of the phase you died of. So in case of Ultima, you restart after the cutscene.

The most painful Ultima I ever did was as tank and the DPS refused the LB and didn't have the damage output. We failed twice and there was nothing I could do other than keep yelling please just use LB. It was awful.

​@@NamineLilyI had a run, which I was running as a black mage, we failed it run because we got to Ultima with everyone but me dead, and while I was _close_ to killing it I wasn't good enough with bm to solo UW at the time. For added fun on the next attempt, our other dps had a black out or something right when we were going to get our level 3 lb, so it dropped us to being unable to recieve the buff, and we had to bring him down with just raw dps, which was down to seconds. Fun times lol

The Page 63 book minion comes from Great Gubal Library (Normal), but you can also get it from Bronze trimmed Sacks from POTD, or from the Aquapolis

"White Mage at 50 sucks." I couldn't agree more. It's so heavily reliant on Lilies these days that going back to a level range before you had them is just painful. It makes me dread even queuing for things like Alliance Roulette as one since we still get CT more than anything else by far. But maybe we're just spoiled... :P

I say this as a WHM main, lilies (and Tetra) are the only thing keeping WHM from being click-hardcast-click-hardcast. Lilies and Assize are about the only things that make it feel like it has options, for the most part.

Hunt trains were how I finished all my Manderville relics since it's relatively easier than doing mechanics in roulettes and triple dips in capped tomes/nuts for 660 gear, uncapped tomes for relics, and hunt achievements (still need 2.4k A ranks to reach 10k)

Hunt trains are ungodly for tome grinding and you could do it all day if you wanted. Also helps that ShB hunts still give tomes you can use for the Manderville weapons.

On the "can't do anything while running from room to room" part, you totally can! Regen the tank, and then go down the aggro list and cast Dia on every mob. It will knock a few percent off each mob's HP while you're running and ultimately make the trash pulls that much faster. Also for Scarmeglione or however you spell it, you can put out literagy of the bell after the add phase and that will keep everyone topped off while those AOEs hit.

Regen the tank and then get aggro from every other mob because they can't do their job properly? Nah, screw regen, just Aero/Dia everything and don't hold Bene for the next dungeon...

Yeah, Alliances peaked at Orbonne Monastery. But I think you said the reason why in the same video: people didn't want fun, they wanted the in and out of Crystal Tower. So the devs probably double downed on making it easy on the massive amount of new players AND the people that just wanted easy tomes. So among blaming Yoshi-P, the devs, or new players, I blame us. Or some aspect wanting the easy daily grind. But that's what expert is for.

In dungeons as a WHM, the majority of your normal healing is just hots. I try to keep hots on the tank at all times. Also, the stun from holy lasts long enough that I usually weave in a medica II after the first, to get the max stun duration and get some hots out. After HOTs, the instant heals from your lilies and tegrogram are your next go to. Tetrogram is an OGC, so it’s pretty easy to weave in. I never cast cure II unless it’s free. Spamming cure, will cause cure II to proc a free cast.

I like the idea that the elemental aether somehow works better if the aesthetic matches the element, so since Zodiark is using a lot of dark aether some guy in Amaurot was like "okay i've calculated a 22% increase of efficiency if we give him tentacles and demon horns" and they just added it same reason pandemonium looks like hell

Dungeon WHM pro(?) tip: when running between mobs, I just slap aero/dia dots on as many of the enemies as I can before all the mobs are pulled and we stop. And yes, WHM before afflatus misery sucks. Because I don't want to be banned IRL, the hug is probably pomegranate flavor. Truth be told though, I don't actually know what those are.

As an AST main, I feel this video. It reminds me how much I miss being a shield healer. (my preferred method, was a scholar till mid Stormblood) But a choice in priority had to be made when they were changed to make room for sages.

The Zodiark trial was real. When I got there during the MSQ I experienced my first full 60 minute lockout ejection. The stars would fall, we would lose 2 - 3 people and 2 - 3 more would have vuln stacks. Then he would to the corner to corner and a couple would go flying. Then he would multi hit stack and the understaffed and half vulnerable survivors would just be beaten to death. Every. Time. So many just couldn't keep up. Thank God we got him on the second try.
