I think they are selfish and didn’t consider all factors including the child. This baby will not always be a child. He/she will find out that the father who raised him/her is not their biological father and will ask questions. How would you explain this.

The fact that they looked for the sperm donor place he went to, tells us they knew what they were doing. They’re selfish, I understand they went through a lot to have a baby but they had so many options. I would have moved, I’m sorry there’s no respect from them.

he should've done a full 180 and threatened to sue for custody ahaha maybe the threat of his brother being able to potentially take their child away would stop them

Not really, it’s the equivalent of adoption..which in is Islam is encouraged…

@@scarletlady3727 sorry it’s not classed the same, please read up on this. I have read the Islamic evidence and knowledge on this. Adoption is totally different to using another man’s sperm. If that’s the case then why can a woman not have more than one. She is only allowed the one to safe guard and to know who’s child it is. If she married and takes another sperm is the same sleeping with another man. I’ve read Islamic books on marriage and fertility. It’s not allowed so please don’t spread falsehood and confuse people reading the comments.

I think they chose him so the kid can be familiar looking to the father that will raise him. So he wanted his features which would probably look like the husband. Is selfish all round but they never considered how confusing this would be for the child. Is madness

That was my exact thought. They did it so the child will have zero inkling that his father isn’t really his father because they will look alike. I also agree that they did not go about this the right way, it is beyond selfish and so disrespectful.

I feel bad for these parents I think that they genuinely wanted to have a child, and have been through. Failed fertility treatments, and they were supposed to get a baby and didn't that's lost on top of loss . When they realize that the brothers stuff was available, it made sense to them because the child would still biologically be both of theirs in a way. What I mean by that is, I am assuming that that is his full brother so genetically that child will still be connected to that family, and could still possibly look like him so on and so forth. Where they went wrong is, you asked and he communicated that that wasn't what he wanted and that it was uncomfortable I think it should've been respected.

The brother wanted the child to be related to him in some form, that’s the only thing I can think of why he would do that behind his brothers back. Nevertheless I am against this no means no!

They probably chose him because the child will look like his biological father. I mean he’ll kinda look like his (not biological) father then. It’s better than having a child that looks like their mother had another partner before that guy…? Like it’ll feel more like their « real » child if the uncle is the bio father

A lot of comments are saying it's going to be confusing for the child, why would they tell the child that they were conceived via artificial insemination? Has anyone's parents in these comments ever talk to them about how they were conceived 😑. That's weird. The mom's going to carry the child, it's the mom's egg, why would they bring that up. If this child wasn't a biologically theirs and for medical history proposes, but its her egg and swimmers from his family dna.
