Molchat Doma 🤝 RHCP, two of my favourite bands! Great Work!
@MarcosElMalo28 ай бұрын
Honestly, I like the idea of RHCP more than the band itself. They have a handful of songs that I absolutely love and the rest are kind of crap. And I’ve been listening to them since 1991. That said, Flea does deserve every accolade and a statue in L.A.

Well, they do live in L.A. now (under the bridge or not, that depends on the deal they got from the record company), so the crossover is real. And yeah the hook / lead tone here is spot on Этажи tone!

@@Lanedude08 Most definitely. Actually, listen to The Cure's Carnage Visors, a 28 minute soundtrack recorded for the animated film of the same name back in 1981 (bassist Simon Gallup's brother made the film)... you will eventually hear the main riff for Californication outright. The Cure and Pantera must have influenced more bands than any other during the late 80's and early 90's imo.

What a way to "Goth-down" or "Goth-up" (depending upon how you view it) a depressing Los Angeles song. It's a huge improvement in my opinion, but Anthony Kiedis is one Native American that everyone assumes all Natives look like, but that's not true. I hate his short hair with a moustache look, he's now found to sport. Oh Well, Whatever..... Bravo Desmond, bravo.....

I think this is a great attempt, and partly successful. It’s poor form for me to offer criticism. I’ve got no musical ability or skill. But here it is anyway. I don’t know how you’d accomplish it, but this song or any peppers song needs a funky bass. I don’t think you need frusciante guitar as much as you need flea bass melody. Maybe what I’m thinking just isn’t possible while maintaining a droning goth vibe that you do so well. “Funky Goth” sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s what I want. I’m an old chili peppers fan that grew bored with the band, to be honest. They developed a unique sound but stalled and didn’t do anything with it after they reached a certain point. But I will always love Flea to pieces.
