a lot of these people got their rank early when it was easier, and you're probably facing secondaries of real good players. i get called a smurf all the time (even though i don't think that's entirely true) this rank system was designed for coin slot based arcade system not online; so an unnatural side effect of the much higher population is that greens that should be greens climb to yellow, yellows that should be yellow climb to orange ETC all the way up. this is why no matter what rank you're at you'll fight someone that seems REALLY good, and next game you fight an absolute bum.

Depends how often you play, fine for you guys that live and breath the game, but i got better things to do than grind my Tekken King rank back, a lot of players will just drop the game, myself included. Tolerated it in 7 because i was only just beginning to climb properly but i don't want to go through the frustration of grinding that back again. This is coming from someone who didn't experience his 1st demotion until i was Kishin, and while i've only ever been demoted 3 times in Tekken 8's lifespan i am not interested in grinding that back, i'm happy to grind other characters up while my main is at Tekken King, i'm not happy to get him back up there and with prowess matchmaking, i just don't see how it can be done in a clean manner.

I've seen Battle Ruler Asuka's hit better combos than that. Movement stiff, no punishment, and zero idea of frames? I understand it's a quick match, but doing bad combos on purpose and not knowing frames on moves is sus.

Even if I'm not playing ranked. Some things like knowing which strings are high and launch punishable are second nature. Asuka is also hella easy. You should at least know some combos. The best advice for you is to delete your account and start over fresh. This is sad. Boosting in a fighting game is the lowest of the low.
