You will catch absolutely nothing on feathers this time of year mate. Best thing you can do is go to local tackle shops and get some squid, possibly black lug, you will catch off the wall at Robin hoods bay and chance of a cod if sea is rough, Ditch the feathers and get some ready tied, 2 hook flappers that will see you right

Good luck on you true adventure adam. What gear are you taking carp rod feeder and surf/ sea rod. Ruck bag and chair would be my choice reather than a seat box. Tight lines and stay safe.

5 minutes of video summarises my experience of sea fishing. Cold, windy, no fish, horrible scenery, getting snapped - never again. Give me a quiet, secluded, picturesque pond any day.
