Fishing on the world famous yankee capts with the wonderful galeforce twins (my favorite youtubers) and they DEFINITELY let me come because we get along so well and NOT just bc I was the only person who would pay them $900 with 12 hours notice before leaving land for half a week.

Glad to see you out of work mode (a little) and enjoying yourself (kind of) fishing for some different and exotic fishes. Those young Ladies do an awesome job setting up a charter like that. I love watching the twins too, they do some cool things, and they know their stuff. I don't know a good reason besides scheduling that would keep the Gale Force gals from doing a collaboration with you Joe, in fact it's kind of given I would think. Worst they can say is "No", so ask!!

So I've never been on a party boat but caught plenty of big snapper before. Think their issue of getting tangled is their physical size? Ie, they just aren't strong enough to horse in the fish?

I use an electric real when I go deeper than 100 ft. We catch some really large snapper and gag grouper. It kills you to fish deep all day using a hand crank. I do like hold the rod I really like to feel the bite. I started going out further to 150 to 180 ft than someone gave me an electric reel i like it in deeper water. The other thing the deeper you go the more weight you need and nothing like getting your bait stole and reeling in a pound of lead in 150 foot will wear you out. I fish out of Apalachicola the snapper fishing the last few years has been excellent. I wish they would let us keep more than two. The grouper fishing has fallen off.

We live in different universes. They definitely have a large audience that there content is made for, but our content, even though it’s both offshore fishing, has a viewership that hardly overlaps on a Venn diagram. But they make great content for the people they target, I will give them that. Those people are generally not my audience

Hey Joe, Sounds like a like jealousy to me. I just heard from your Blue Fin tuna video, you are from Jacksonville. My son and I were there in September and fished with Hott Pursuit, Capitan Chris. We did okay but boat control was a little to be desired. Went 3 days. Caught some b-liners, barracuda, mango snapper, and some peanuts. Gulf steam was so far out took 6 hours of travel leaving 4 hours of fishing. I want to get into big bull mahi, tuna. Where and when would you recommend the best place to go for them?
