The problem is, with my expert opinion & that's the best opinion is that you crashed because the motorcycle is meant to stay upright. What you done was put the motorcycle on it's side. I am a self proclaimed expert.
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha yes. I do believe that is precisely what did happen. How did no one else see this yet. I'm embarrassed 😂
@iananderson14223 жыл бұрын
Some one already said it GB. caught your slider on the apex and list traction at the rear wheel. Really glad you're okay. I have always said if I have to crash I want to low side. High sides hurt a hell of a lot more. The bike is easier to fix than the body. Stay safe but Have fun. 👍👍 Cheers from Canada🇮🇪🇨🇦
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
A few people said a few things, I didn't catch my slider on the apex as I told them :) I'd have felt it and it wouldn't cause loss of rear traction anyway unless I let off, which you can see/hear I didn't :) Haha yeah a nice gentle low side I'll take any day over a high side!! Depends on the injuries, bruises are a lot cheaper than rear sets I've found :P I will :)

Glad you are ok. I have the same issue as you on that standard suspension is not suitable for our weight. I punt my Griso around the track. They are to be ridden not just looked at.

Great footage, have you done any post processing? I find insta 360's 360 footage lacks detail when I record. Lovely bike, what caused the sudden loss of traction on the rear?
@TheGorillaBiker Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I use premiere pro for editing and colour grade very gently myself, I also up the sharpness as well as I find raw it looks a bit meh in premiere pro. What we figured in the end was my shock was 20 odd years old and basically never uncompressed before that corner. Track tyres and a new shock and I never had the same issue again!

unlucky pal, its a strange feeling when your in the middle of laying down a bike, same thing happened me at kirkistown track on my fireblade, only the front end washed out , went straight back out again after i got bike sorted, main thing is to enjoy it and feel more confident getting your body off the bike more , everything else will fall into place, good luck
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed this! For some reason KZbin held the comment for review, no idea why! I would have been straight back out as well just didn't have enough parts to sort it on the day! Won't make that mistake again :) Yeah I have the rear shock booked in to be set up more for my size and I had the rear tyre at too high a pressure it turns out! It's all learning :) Can't wait to be back out now! Thanks!

Looked good through the session. Keep doing what you are doing. If you do fit a new rear shock you may have to stiffen up the front in case it overloads it. Don't change too many things at once, including your own riding. I would just focus on getting those feet up out of the way.... Good video, even if the 360 does make me feel sea sick lol...
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
Ah I was having a blast :) I'll definitely try to! The front has more to go stock so hopefully it'll be ok, the rear I already knew wasn't great for me, I think I mentioned it previously even....should have listened to myself :D Yeah I'm going to adjust the rearsets a bit to try make it possible for me to get a better position. Yeah the 360 was only intended for little bits for a mix video but well....yano had to make do :D

It never actually touched, on the 360 cam in editing I have a few mm there, by the looks of it the tyre gave up before the apex anyway. I dunno. I'll have to change the shock anyway.....need to win the lotto :D Yeah a high side would have been fairly devastating. Thanks man, you too!

@@TheGorillaBiker I wasn’t sure. I’ve watched your spill a few times and you did absolutely nothing wrong. I can’t say why the rear broke out like that cos I’ve never set up a bike for the track, but I can say that when it did there was absolutely nothing you could have done. But I did think of one silver lining; “This is how we become better riders.”. I wish I’d had the sense to get into track days. I might have ended up in less fields lol. Ride Safe Brother 🙏🏻😎🏴

@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
Haha mostly accidental, wrong gear :D Ah yeah I was having a blast, to be honest looking at the 360 footage up close in editing I didn't budge or let off so I'll defer to Chris and agree it was the suspension. The peg still had clearance and you can see the tyre give up by the black mark so....I dunno really I'm just listening to people who know more than me, all I know is kerbs hurt :D

@@TheGorillaBiker lol!! Your destroying your clutch. Your not on your motorcycle test your on a race circuit! The reason you crashed is not that you out performed your suspension.
