Why didn't the Japanese producers and writers try harder to bring all of Ash's old friends into the final episode? I always say because the final episode isn't complete without all of Ash's friends. The Japanese producers and writers don't want to continue with Ash getting together with all his friends to fight Team Rocket, they don't want to plan Ash and Giovanni's final battle, they just keep ignoring all the plans.

It is subjective on what Giovanni’s ultimate team would be since while he could acquire any Pokémon he has his sights set on, he mostly let others do the battling for him. But do agree he’d have Persian, given how that Pokémon is always by his side, and along with having a Nidoqueen and Rhyperior (Rhyhorn family) as both do repeatedly appear on his teams via the games.

Giovanni started with Charmander he was Oak's rival. Oak started with Bulbasaur. The Captain of the SS Anne took the Squirtle probably. Didnt Giovanni also have a Beedrill in the manga too from Viridian Forest next to his gym, in the manga I remember him having a high level Beedrill from his childhood.

I’m saddened he never got put in the Masters Eight. He is an absolutely frightening trainer that kept people from challenging the elite four at a notoriously high level. He wiped Red’s team during the official gym match with a stage 1 evolution Rhyhorn that could go up to Rhydon and then Rhyperior. That speaks A LOT. Red’s team also had an advantage in some way type-wise except for Charizard.
