My problem is that the show is way too slow for Pokemon to the point where it doesn’t feel like a real Pokemon show and it really feels like one of those spinoff shows that they be making, because being real they always have amazing animation and a cool story. But now we’re on part 2 with more episodes and we still haven’t gotten much of any progress because it just feels like two parts full of filler. I like getting to know characters and I get the character development, and I know the trainers have to start from somewhere, but seeing them repeatedly use the same moves and lose, grow 1% each time, and do dumb things, as much as it reminds me of Kanto ash is that kinda thing only works for ash and specifically in indigo league, similar to how unova ash being dumb was just mid. I like watching them grow but there hasn’t even been a single fully on screen battle that went normally and has had a winner from what I remember. Pokemon adding new goals and stories is amazing but they’re still drifting from the concept of it which has literally been catching and battling from day one. So far Roy finally caught 1 Pokemon. We haven’t seen much of anything else including this concept to its normal extent which makes this show feel so off brand for Pokemon because none of them are doing what really makes Pokemon what it is at its max potential which is the concept of Pokémon + Aiming for their goal, and instead are taking the smallest steps ever.

I LOVE SUN AND MOON! People always argue that it’s not “as mature” as XY, but I could really type you an essay on how untrue this is. Sure, it has a lot of laid-back moments, but if you really watched the anime you would know about Litten and Stoutland, Mallow and her mom, Lillie’s trauma, Guzma’s lesson of “not running away,” and so much more. Another of my favorite things about Sun and Moon is that none of Ash’s Pokemon really overshadow another (except the one who truly deserves to, his Pikachu). All of his Pokemon, like you said, have distinct personalities and long-term rivals, and they all go through their own development (in previous seasons, he usually had at least one that was basically forgotten about and only one that was his “ace” of the region). Also, I love how he made friends with all of his Pokemon before catching them. I don’t know why they didn’t implement this sooner, but it shows Ash’s care for Pokemon in a really nice way. Live love Sun and Moon 🗣️

I watched the whole 3 alola seasons for more than 10 times I also cried when it ended and I had to wait for new galar seasons

Finally, someone agrees with me about the Alola anime being amazing! The only things that I would change to make it perfect is to give Mallow some more screen time and character development, and make Ash not be such an idiot (he should have been like how he was in Journeys)

I loved the kalos region, I’m still young, and when it got off Netflix I ended up watching sun and moon. Don’t remember much about the small amount of Pokémon I watched, but sun and moon was amazing, and everybody needs to go watch it rn

Also, what’s confusing about Ash’s Lucario in Journeys is that in XY when Korrina mega evolved her Lucario, it went berserk, but Ash’s didn’t for some reason.

The snivy in question knew leaf storm and leaf blade, and had the defensive type advantage, and the point of Ash arriving in a new region is that he’s not that strong in the beginning, so I think that is justifiable

Bro, I started in 97 at 8 years my Mum bought on VHS for me on my Birthday it was perfect. Now I just tune in to watch Ash get busy in the big Tournaments. Now my 7 year Old Son is a Pokemon Trainer I feel like Professor Oak & its dope.

I was glad to find a video praising the Sun&Moon anime, and yet I was disappointed it kept saying "not as good as X" when it's completely wrong each and every time. Sun&Moon anime is PEAK Pokémon anime and none of the prior or later series even comes close. XY&Z is second, sure, but a distant second still. Also, I can tell you watched the dub just by hearing you claim Lana got too much screentime, lol.

the setup for the sun and moon series was great. much more interesting characters than the x and y companions. Im not usually impressed with battles, but the setup for the league was brilliant. They did some r eally interesting stuff in those fights

I hated how poor Torkoal and Torterra was written! As a speedy turtwig he got so many wins but as he got bigger and slower the anime hinted at a "niw that your bigger you gotta take more hits" strategy and yet tbe poor guy was just falling apart! In the Hoenn days Ash's pokemon got some pretty badash back stories to they're eventual captures Torkoal waa literally getting his shell handed to him by a horde of steel types but kept standing up! Heck 13 yr old me was cheering for him when he was fighting the king of steel Registeel but the writers just mads him lose a bunch! I wish he learned flame wheel or got creative with his fiery moveset like they did with Ash's Squirtle so he could pull off more W's like his better fire predecessors!

it was the greatest and only pokemon series. Actually the entire show was garbage. i watched it as a kid and even then i only watched it because it was new and there wasnt anything better. i always thought the show was trash and im suprised it even lived on for so long.
