The only actor in this movie that understands they're playing in a comedy. Including the directors.

Send this to a friend without any context of the movie. Literally every line of dialogue is a journey

I've seen many mock him for his delivery of this line, but it's actually pretty good. Even though the movie sucks as a whole, he sold it, cheesy as it is.

I disagree. I think his acting in the movie is way over the top. I don’t fully understand what he is yelling for in the scene.

He gambled a little with his performance in a truly awful movie, and I definitely don't think he came off worse than if he'd just mailed it in.

Of course his acting is completely over the top. The dialogue is legitimately stupid and his co-actor in this scene is hamming up her lines. There's only one way to deal with that and that's leaning into the ham. The delivery is brilliant. His entire performance in this movie is brilliant. It's absolutely awful and campy and that's what makes it fit into an awful and campy movie. After years and years, this line, this delivery is the only part of the movie that I still remember every now and then and I love it.

I will never understand how the Ws thought that specific delivery, going big for an explosive half second and then quiet again, would be a good idea. The unintentional laughter drowned out the second half of the line.

And that's why I love it. It's brilliant. In this movie, Eddie Redmayne is always there to remind you that you're watching a comedy.

@@Salted_Fysh Do you think it's because he takes himself too seriously?
@Salted_Fysh29 күн бұрын
@@Kostaki312 I don't know. I like to think that Redmayne saw the script and the direction the shoots were going and decided 'since I'm already doing this anyways, might as well go ham and have some fun.' It's not often you get to do this kind of shit as an actor once you go television/movie and it's really fun. And it's not like him trying to play the role more seriously would have made the movie any better. It would probably have taken the only memorable performance out of it. I mean, I still remember this one line after so many years and practically nothing else about the movie other than toilet cleaning Queen Bee of the universe, People juice and magic Spacewerewolf or whatever.

A moment of silence for all those listening with headphones. No literally, a moment of silence, because they are now deaf.

Ladies and gentlemen, a performance delivered by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne! As funny as it is, you can’t deny that he’s horribly miscast here and the whole movie is derivative & stupid as heck (The Wachowskis are the responsibles for the awful story, screenplay and direction) Poor Eddie even won a Razzie Award for this, at least he took it in stride and acknowledged it on the Oscars red carpet
