Victoria 3 USA - one of the actuaklly fleshed out and unique nations. Having said that, we also have the potential for a hidden Victoria 3 Formable nation - the United Sovreign archduchy.\ This is what happens when you become a monarchy as the United States in Victoria 3. The USA Victoria 3 monarchy is a thing of pure chaos, with a qorld conquest not beyond your reach owing to the vast resources at your disposal.

Here's my theory about how the United Soveirgn Archduchy is an empire. For those that don't know an Archduchy is essentially a kingdom, the title originates from the Holy Roman Empire. So, the morarchy of the USA is an empire, but defines itself in the name as an archduchy, but I don't think that's the case, remember in it's republic form, it's the *United States* of America, now its the *United Soveirgn* Archduchy. As a republic the USA defines itself as a union of states inside the republic of America, but as a monarchy the USA defines itself as a union of soveirgn archduchy states, under the empire of America. Tldr; the United Soveirgn Archduchy, is an empire where each state is an archduchy, essentially a kingdom, under the emporer

@@Spacemarine658 definitely an interesting run, and most certainly would be unplayable. Perhaps the reason their all still united under the one emperor is because, like in CK3, the emperor holds the titles of the archduchy's, like how Napoleon was both the emperor of France, and also king of Italy, but with all 48 mainland archduchy's
@eagleowl833

@@Spacemarine658 if the nation becomes too decentralised then that should happen. So if the CSA rises to power and aren't able to maintain national unity then they will fully lean into the idea of states rights and become an alliance of all but independent states. Similar thing could happen to the USA if political instability results in a weak and ineffective government. Plus it would be funny to see the American Empire meet the same fate as the Holy Roman Empire. Just imagine the Archduchy of Ohio conquering it's neighbours and forming a Great lakes Empire of its own.

3:44 Well, New York technically banned the ownership of slaves but they still invested heavily into the slave trade and were the heart of it's shipping industry for a while. There was a surprising amount of support in some areas of rural New York for the south, although once the war really sparked off they decided against joining them and the support waned overtime.

Great Britain banned the International Slave Trade at the beginning of the 19th Century and the U.S. completely respected that ban: Any transportation of slaves from that point was done domestically, so I am not sure where you are getting at claiming that New York somehow profitted so massively from the domestic trade of slaves.
@micayahritchie7158
@micayahritchie7158 Жыл бұрын
@@Wasserkaktus Except that I don't think it was even respected in Britain. There are people in the UK who's records were shown to be shipping slaves to the US and Brazil after it was meant to be abolished. If I remember correctly there was a bit of controversy in Merseyside recently when they found out that one of the big guys held up in Liverpool and Manchester over the centuries was profiteering off a banned slave trade. I might be entirely wrong here though

About the Puppeted Brazil's flag, it was a real thing. When the Empire was abolished, a Republic took place and, since it was inspired by the USA (the only model of a big republic up until that point in history), they called themselves the United States of Brazil and adopted the same flag as the USA's, but with green and yellow (former Empire's colours) instead of white, red and blue.

Tbh I agree that avoiding the civil war in america is way too easy in Vic3. Like pretty much the entire half century leading up to the war was building up tension over the Slavery debate, and by the time it came to a head the South revolted not because slavery was outlawed, but because even the idea of slavery getting outlawed was too much for them. You really shouldn't be able to sidestep the issue by the time Vic3 begins

Actually it would be easy, just stop Jackson from becoming pres, without the democratic part, bloody Kansas, trail of tears, wouldn't have happened that would prevent the majority of interstate tensions
@Alex_Fahey
@Alex_Fahey Жыл бұрын
@Wyatt Burke The Trail of Tears or something worse would have happened anyway. America was growing rapidly in population by immigration and birthrate. Americans kept moving westward for the then largely unused agricultural goldmine of the South - despite the fledgling USA government's wishes - and colonizing Indian territory. Jackson, in an effort to avoid all-out genocidal war, solved the problem relatively peacefully by diplomatically strong-arming the bordering tribes into moving to the territories out west. Similarly, Bloody Kansas was a product of, what seemed at the time, a smart idea for peacefully resolving the slavery debate from then on by leaving the decision up to the respective state's popular sovereignty. To cut a long story short, it did not turn out the way they hoped and inflamed tensions, and sadly, they lacked the benefits of hindsight to never do it in the first place.

My first and so far only game as the US - the very first thing I did was Ban Slavery. I just... did it. For Trench Infantry being so early, it's probably because the Civil War was when trenches really started appearing. It was probably a really good thing it ended when it did because the war probably would of gotten a lot worse if it kept going from the expanded use of the trenches.
@Gustav_Kuriga
@Gustav_Kuriga Жыл бұрын
The reason trenches only saw limited use during the Civil War was because the amount of front vs the amount of soldiers wouldn't allow continuous trench systems like we saw in WWI. Any field fortifications that sprung up could be bypassed or outflanked if the commander actually felt like doing so.

12:25 Interesting fact, Nebraska derives its name from an anglicization of a native American word- in this case, Ñí Brásge, an Otoe word meaning "flat water". I always found it morbid that the US tends to name states and cities after the natives that used to live there- you know, before we murdered them during this time period.

@RichV20 6 ай бұрын
You can only have so many New Yorks, Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Lancasters, King of Prussia, Bismarks before you start running out of European names. Canada cities and towns were probably taking all the good English names so America started naming states, counties, cities and towns after native tribes and what they called the particular area. the US is a big place and it needs to be mapped and named.

A grand macro strategy of "Divide and Rule"... literally split any great power up into smaller bits and rule through economics

Regarding the trench warfare tech, the end of the Civil War saw what were essentially field fortifications that were extremely costly to frontally attack, mostly during Sherman's March through the South. Sherman never actually engaged directly for the most part during that campaign besides one abortive attack that was deadly and did nothing. He outflanked Johnston's dug in army, forcing him to retreat and dig in further back. The only reason the Civil War did not end up with Trench Warfare was because of the sheer size of area being fought over, making a continuous line of fortifications impossible for the population involved. Any fortified position an Army did occupy could be outflanked or bypassed.

I had a Civil War (and lost even with France's support) due to switching to Monarchist immediately. Slowly but surely, I gained my land back and puppeted the entirity of South America, the Canadian Dominions, Alaska, Australia, Italy, Spain and Portugal, Japan, and the Scandinavian countries (which then reformed into their single entity). I also took the Home Counties, Ingria, and Beijing since CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS insisted on interfering so much they made France look like an absentee father 😒

"im gonna fight the civil war but on the side of the confederates" nw the US thought of a lot of methods to oppress people, from the ruling standpoint thats half the fun.
