Coming from the aerospace industry, I believe you really need to start with a block diagram and making proper schematics for the wiring. You can lay out some component plates with wire pathing. With the correct use of nice MS connections, you will have the option to remove said component plates for ease of access. But ill reiterate, proper schematics will be key for you. I would recommend something like Visio or Kicad.

I took a job working on cables and thought it would be simple. I was so wrong. Cables are the unsung hero of any system. They have to be durable and flexible, hard parts, soft parts, mechanical and electrical connections, data lines, impedance, shielding, peak and constant current ratings, and temperature ratings. They are last part anyone things of but needed before you can test a system. The stuff MIL parts are rated for us no joke and I look forward to seeing the art of the final harness.

If you are building a new harness, get another PDM for the rear of the car, connect everything via CAN, and save yourself tons of wiring/time/money

Having worked with these Mil sepc connectors for a good period of time inthe past the nostalgia is both exciting and terrifying haha, the satisfaction of a completed job is 2nd to none tho.

I am at 36:27 and I HAVE to write this comment now before I forget because Rob just said "the coolest thing, and yet the most boring thing to see on camera" which is pretty much a perfect phrase for everything electtrical ever xD

Bad Obsession Motorsports had the same "So insanely custom it's overwhelming" experience with their Project Binky build, especially when it came to the wiring, since they decided to include the vast majority of every electronic feature from the newer car's wiring loom all jammed into a new ECU and a fuse and relay panel cobbled together from two different vehicles. Building a new custom firewall and transmission tunnel will be quite the challenge, particularly since you'll need to make sure to place sufficiently large flat panel sections for all of your connectors to mount into.

I wired my boat and it is like the most basic circuit ever. Good luck man. I dread the day when I re-wire my 64 mustang.
