I cut my damaged hair into a pixie cut (Clippers and Scissors)

I have had enough of my damaged hair and have decided to cut myself a pixie cut using clippers and scissors. I have in the past cut my damaged hair myself, but not as short as a pixie cut.
As you might have seen I enjoy changing my hair and I have always wanted to cut my hair but have never cut myself a pixie cut, in fact I have never cut my hair from this long to this short. I would usually only just trim my hair when it is longer. Unfortunately my hair was so damaged on the top that I had to cut off more than I had anticipated and had to go for a quite short pixie cut but I absolutely love it and it is no longer damaged and it is just so much easier to manage :)

I've cut my own hair short for about 30 years now but never quite that short. You did a fantastic job. My personal opinion with my own hair is that if I'm not going to end up with a cut that I like, I might as well do it myself for free. lol

I have been cutting my hair for the past 17 yrs that I have been retired. I use a texturing scissors that I got at the dollar store and it still works. I did go to a hair dresser a few times but was very disappointed with the look so I am happy to do it myself although I am almost 80. I now have a mirror behind me in the BR so I can see the back of my head which does help to not to have to hold a mirror. Also if you open the medicine cabinet a little, it gives you a great view of the back while you are cutting. I think you did a great job and also having a nice face helps!!

Right!? I was thinking the same thing! AND she didn't have to pay them afterwards. Some pros have negatively chimed in here, and all I could think of, was some of the salon haircuts that look like a 5 year-old musta done it 😄. Also was just laughing about horrific color jobs I've seen where people were oohing and aahing over it (prolly cause they're glad it didn't happen to them) I'm sure you do a good job for your clients, cause you recognize this untrained young lady's talent, and incredible end result.

My neighbor had bald spot on top and the black hair just showed it up! We all see, it is NOT good. Maybe to the person doing it. lol.

Hah! I am a former hairdresser and I couldn’t believe that you were going to end up with anything that would look decent to wear out in public! But since you weren’t cutting a very structured haircut, it looks quite lovely on you! Your hair was very, very damaged and you can’t do anything with hair that is that damaged except cut it off. You look really pretty with a short cut and I can only imagine how much better it feels! Keep the bleach out of it and let the bleached ends finish growing off and your hair and you will be much happier.😊 Good job!

I could never video my self cutting (me faire coiffure?) my white blond grey Bob/pixie, but I may revisit the comb and horseshoe section (I once spent one and a half hours failing to section without a snip). I do do a triangle for long fringe for side sweep Woah my clippers so far for man cuts..I think you are a dab hand .

Well I am a former hairdresser and that’s exactly how I cut my hair. It came out good because you did it by feel. It works when you section it like that. To keep mine short I cut it once a week. I know it sounds scary, but I find it much easier to cut my own hair neatly without a mirror. Going by feel gives a neater finish than having to try to reverse what you’re seeing in the mirror.

I was literally. Cheering on! I recently cut my almost shoulder length hair super short after my hairdresser over processed my hair then did a keratin treatment. It felt like straw! It’s still not right by any means, but I get a lot of compliments on it, which is the weirdest thing to experience!!! I’m actually going to have my old hairdresser whom I haven’t seen in a long time undercut it a little bit so I can get more movement and texturize where it’s bulky! I stopped bleaching my hair years ago because of the damage but just recently had a few foils of blond put in and noticed that dry hair change immediately so this will be the last time. I recently had my very long hair chopped off short but thinking of a style much shorter at the sides and back like yours, your video has given me inspiration to do this. Hi Jade. Just watched your pixie haircut after stumbling onto your video. Thought you were amazingly brave! I was transfixed to the screen! Your hair looked fab at the end! Well done! It just shows that we can be brave and take that leap to do our own hair cut at home. Fab. I would love a cut like this. It can be for young and old. I am a senior and have tried to cut a short style similar to what you have done. Trouble is I can't see the back of my hair well evough to do a good job. I have not been to a stylist for over two years. I wish I had enough trust that a stylist could do what you have done to your hair. It is really pretty. Very Good Video!

Looks terrific! I can hardly believe I've found someone else who on a whim does whatever strikes her fancy with her hair. I've cut, colored, highlighted, permed, etc..my hair so many different times. My hair is also super thick and wavy. It starts to drive me crazy, so I section it off, get the scissors and thinning shears after it, and away I go. As you said, its hair..it'll grow back.

Heather, when you can retire as a mental health therapist and a community Chaplin then tell me of my immaturity. I meant to compliment you and you meant to insult me. When people go out of their way to insult or hurt, that is a sign of low self confidence or narcissistic behavior. When you loose your hair from chemo you begin to find ways to deal with your hair falling out. I hope you never know what that is.

Omg😂I have laughed my head off!!! I was so disgusted with my hair and had been sick... So I just looked at it after washing it and literally said the same thing.. I CAN'T STAND THIS STUFF ANYMORE, I'M GOING TO CUT IT MYSELF... I didn't do as good as she did but I certainly messed it up.. I was telling my best friend who is retired now but she was a hair dresser.... I went like 2 weeks with it the way it was.. I just pulled up what I could.. she came and picked me up and took me too her home and fixed my hair for me... I love it, I don't know how she straightened it out it was so chopped up, but she did great❤ forever grateful!!
