Mosquito Dunks/Bits work very well for fungus gnats. I prefer the Dunks to soak in water overnight as I can let the chunk of the Dunk dry and then reuse for the next treatment. The important thing is to treat your plants multiple times even if you no longer see the gnats. I usually treat the plant with the Mosquito Dunk tea for each of the next 4-6 regular waterings.

How did you keep it growing and getting it's nutrients if you haven't changed soil in 3years?
@EverythingPlants Жыл бұрын
I will fertilize once a month when it's actively growing. I use the dyna grow foliage pro for most of my house plants including my Jades. It's a liquid fertilizer. You dilute it in water and give it the water and fertilizer solution only when the plant needs water.

I have a question about jade propagation by leaf. Hope a somewhat off topic question is alright. I started 14 new jades from leaves about a year ago, each in their own little container, and they look to be doing great. Most grew out two or even three little trunks from the parent leaf base. My question is this: are those trunks one plant or multiple? If multiple will they crowd each other and if so should I try to separate or cut/pinch some out? If I need to separate I'd like to do it now while they are small.
@EverythingPlants Жыл бұрын
Hey Kyle, I believe those are all multiple plants and once they get maybe an inch height then you could probably separate them. I've never tried this before so I can't save for certainty that that is the case , but definitely give it a try and see what happens. Most of mine that I've propagated from a single leaf has gotten a single stem. Hopefully this helps...
@hansdrubal1 Жыл бұрын
@@EverythingPlants Thanks. I will give it a try and carefully attempt to separate and see what is going, see if there are multiple root systems or just one. If each mini trunk is its own plant then I will get 23 jades from those 14 parent leaves! If the same root system then I guess I have plants that want to throw out multiple trunks.

I used to watch Nigel but I found it very disappointing. He would start our carefully snipping away as he pruned a tree but then ended up completely defoliating the tree. I would want to see trimming or pruning methods but he usually ends up defoliating. I mean if defoliating is what he wants to do instead pruning, fine, but I was looking for help in pruning and shaping. Defoliating is a very extreme thing to do and it does not need to be done that often. He certainly seems to do it quite a bit. Kinda strange.
