If you have a higher lumen penlight, you could try shining it through some of the more semi-translucent agates from a few different angles, just to peek a bit deeper into them to help you decide where to cut.

Oh I never thought about that! Great idea!

You are very quickly becoming my favorite agate and rock person! I love your personality and the fact that I always have time to watch your videos because they don't go on and on. Oh your little noises (I'm thinking maybe you have a young son and play cars with him 😊) I'm happy for you (and me) that you got your own saw! I watched your tumbling videos before you got your saw and I'm so glad that you are still going to use your tumbler to see what happens with the agates and other ones that weren't your favorites! Looking forward to that too You're great!

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm feeling like you need a flat lap. You could either polish the flat faces of these rocks that you're cutting open for these videos just as they are or cut skinnier wafers and polish both sides to get a more translucent look and get more pieces per rock. You don't need a full Cab King setup if you're just polishing flat surfaces like this, and they're a ton cheaper... just sayin'
