I'm old and been at this for a long time. Don't be hard on yourself. Don't be overly obsessed with numerical goals. Keep it fun, that's what will sustain you for the long run. Keep on keeping on, you're doing great!

Thank you! Appreciate it!

Well, I'm seriously impressed by your consistency. For 2025, I've already failed. My chest infection is a reasonable excuse but the truth of the matter is that I simply don't have your determination. Ten miles a day for a year is one heck of an achievement. Congratulations.

Thank you very much! Yeah I got ill a few times and had to ride anyway which was pretty horrible I must say! All the best

Started keeping track of cycling mileage in 1992 when I had a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Just over 3,000 miles a year when they were little. Worked full time in health care management and am retiring in couple of weeks. The miles went up as the kids got older. Ride when you can. Did a lot of rides to playgrounds and construction sites (little boys love big machines) with a kid seat on the rear rack.

That’s cool! Yeah we do a fair bit of that, but not as much as I’d like yet as they’re only 2 and below! Hope retirement is fun for you!

Wish I’d been able to do a ride every day. Life gets in the way so props for getting it done
@Cycling36629 күн бұрын
Yeah it definitely does. I had to force time sometimes which wasn’t ideal.

Don’t be so hard on yourself Tom life can just sometimes get in the way of our cycling goals. You have to prioritise somehow and often the riding is the thing that loses out. There’ll be other times to ride and you just have to embrace them. Keep up the great work with the videos

Thanks Sean, cest la vie! All the best for this year

Hi Tom, I walked Lands End to John O'Groats in 2024 to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society, my mum died of the damn disease - such a worthy cause - well done you! Great channel too

That’s amazing Gary. I’d love to walk LEJOG. I rode it in 2021 but to walk it would be amazing. Thanks!

Well done Tom - have been following your adventures since earlier in 2024 & really like your honest straight forward take on life & the relaxed films of your adventures. Donated - all the best to you and your growing family - Im at the other end of it with my 2 lads setting out in the world independently - and one of the many things that binds us is our mutual love for the outdoors and all the adventures we had together as a family when growing up. The best is really yet to come! Onwards & upwards for 2025 👌🚴♀️👍

Great achievement, just found your channel (and watched your ‘how to assemble your new bike’ video on Alpkit’s website in anticipation of receiving my new Camino) and am slowly working my way through your amazing videos! Loads of great advice for a newbie like me, so thanks for what you do.
