Rewatching yet again. I recall seeing this live in 2008 and here I am 15 years later, still wondering WHY Andrew was so angry here. Really! The standard was high at this point - who else would he have put in the bottom two? This time around I've been able to envision Niamh as Nancy in a way I never had been able to previously; she definitely had a unique quality but her solo performance on this particular week was definitely one of the weaker ones. And while Keisha's performance might have been a step up on her previous outings (she never really hit the mark after nailing week one, her vocal was strong but seemed to far eclipse her acting skills and ability to connect at this point in time) it was still below most of the others. Jessie definitely had a poorer week by her standards, but Andrew would have blown a fuse if she (his clear favourite from at least week two) landed in the sing-off. Jodie, Sarah, Rachel and Samantha all knocked it out of the park this week (and note that ALW said he was dreading a Jodie vs Samantha sing-off. So that writes off another two.) Really the most obvious bottom two would have been Keisha and Ashley, which still features one of the people he said shouldn't have been in the bottom two in the first place - and yet that same person had already been in the bottom two twice and her days unfortunately appeared numbered. Which is all to say: wasted angst from ALW here, clearly got a little wrapped up in the moment. Excuse the essay, it's 2am. You know you've been there too.

Loving this! I think about this show way too much 😂 I think he wanted Ashley in the bottom 2 for sure and I think Niamh being there really threw him. I also think because everyone had nice things to say about Keisha that week he had a reason to save her for the third time. So the plan was to send Ashley home and when that wasn't an option he was fuming. I believe after he saved her in week 4, Cameron Macintosh had a go at him because he preferred Francesca. A similar incident occured later in the show. The tension is palpable by the final. I also think there were clues he wasn't as big a fan as Jodie as he claimed (he said something early on about her being what "the viewers will see as Nancy" and he gets much more mean later) so I wonder if he hoped it would be Ashley Vs Jodie

I also feel irritated with Keisha because when she got through in week 4 she screamed like a freaking banshee and then was horrified that she lost her voice! Yeah mate, professional singers don't go around screeching at the top of their lungs when they are pushing their voice week after week. I am surprised none of the panel pointed this out. Anyway, apologies if my take is unwanted, I could write a thesis on these shows

I can't believe that Keisha is gone and Ashley is still there!!! Ashley is constantly singing out of key and messes up the lyrics! I can hear Ashley singing flat... and I"m practically tone deaf! Keisha's voice is strong and full of emotions. What is wrong with people!
