That is a great question. In the United States you can get what is called a "Contrary Order" which essentially is an agreement to opt-out of the rules that require universal service within the country. However, if you get a contrary order it is highly likely that you will be put on one of the governments watch lists. Though, there is also another way that will exploit the intrinsic laziness of the USPS leeches but it requires a PO Box. What you can do is get a PO Box and then get a permanent mail forward order from your residential address to your PO Box. Then just let your mailbox fill up with all the junk mail they insist on delivering to you anyway!!!!!!! Once the mailbox is full and the employee can no longer reach their parasitic arms into your mailbox to leave you what is essentially garbage they will make the executive decision to be lazy and skip said box leaving you with a permanent forward and an empty mailbox. Well, and the satisfaction that you won!

@SpongeBath_ShitPants7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it's a monthly or yearly fee.
@sokarII7 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I pay 50 a year. But the advantage when using a box along with the permanent forward is it is harder to misdeliver your mail when its delivered to the post office and stays there, you don't have the mailman coming to your mailbox or to your door, and you have less of these idiots handling your mail which shields it from their incompetence. In my situation that makes $50 a bargain. Hell, I'd pay $100/year not to deal with these people at all.

@@drugsmadilla Your disdain for the public sector has blinded you. Instead of just believing it, look into the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 (PAEA), which some have taken to calling "the most insane law" ever passed by Congress. The law requires the Postal Service, which receives no taxpayer subsidies, to prefund its retirees' health benefits up to the year 2056. This is a $5 billion per year cost; it is a requirement that no other entity, private or public, has to make. If that doesn't meet the definition of insanity, I don't know what does. Without this obligation, the Post Office actually turns a profit. Some have called this a "manufactured crisis." It's also significant that lots of companies benefit from a burden that makes the USPS less competitive; these same companies might also would benefit from full USPS privatization, a goal that has been pushed by several conservative think tanks for years. You should also look into "starving the beast". It's not the fault of the USPS if congress is going out of their way to make them look like they're hemorrhaging money when they wouldn't be on a level playing field. about.usps.com/news/national-releases/2018/pr18_093.htm

Michael Richards in Seinfeld consistently delivered great comedic performances however Wayne Knight was extremely funny. I love him in this scene.

I love how Newman asks about bills, Kramer states the bank can pay them and Newman just moves on to cards and letters as if he was like "oh yeah the bank would pay them"

It'd have been funny if the Postal boss who asks Newman if everything is ok, heard Kramer say he wants out permanently, and he responds in an innocuous, yet with a tinge of mafioso..."I think we can accommodate you Mr. Hoff...I mean Kramer".

Kramer had no idea how bad it would get in 2024!!! He probably got 3 pieces of mail per day back in the 90s. Now you get 3 per minutes. 😭😭

I would totally opt out of the USPS. It would take too long to explain, but you wouldn't believe the damn headaches I've had because of their overwhelming incompetence. It's truly unbelievable. They're a testament to the inherent idiocy of government bureaucracies.
