I forgot how creative fashion can be. I wish the mainstream magazines had more edgy stuff like this. That might be asking for a contradiction...
@nenee0097 жыл бұрын
Or people just do it because they like it? wth
@arsaeterna42856 жыл бұрын
even fashion mags are so much edgier than actual square fashion you can buy at the store I'm a guy but whenever I see a vogue or a W magazine while waiting in a salon, I always pick it up It's so fun to taste a world where people are not afraid to wear what they want sadly I think the majority of people want to wear... what everyone else is wearing, they are the cage

@@maxhooper4319 I assure you every piece of work had loads of research and development and every piece had a meaning or reason. You just couldn't see it. The reason this is not mainstream fashion is that they were never intended for mainstream audiences. The top designers rarely design for your average person. Fashion is wearable art, its as simple as that. It only needs to be as functional/usable as a framed painting. Neither Dazed or i-D target mainstream audiences like yourself too. Your comment undermines the effort and skill many artists and designers, from photographers, makeup artists, set designers, stylists, and many more, put into their craft. There's a reason why Central Saint Martins is harder to get into than some of the world's top universities.

+Lysets vokter: so, just WHAT, then, constitutes "talent", for you...? Le Monsieur Dior became successful, one must remember, at a time when there was, yet, an Enormous amount of "uncharted territory & unplumbed depths" in Fashion...So MANY ideas & concepts, as-of-yet (at the time), totally untried...unattempted...un-"dared" &, "un-risked" (...etc...!). In These, current, times, fashion (..."Fashion"...) has, pretty much, "been there/done that/shown-it-all" (...again, etc...!), to the point where one truly DOES need to 'push the envelope', if one Is GOING to make an effort to BE "original"; wouldn't you say....??!

the designers profiled were clever and creative but jesus christ could you please find some talent to represent outside of the privileged glut of london creatives? i know its harder cause your team probably all went to uni with the people featured but christ, there are things happening in manchester and birmingham and leeds too and its all shamefully being ignored. no wonder the comments are full of people frustrated by this kind of east london posturing.

True but not true, I went to CSM and i'm from birmingham and the people in London just have this energy about them that makes them so appealing. And their weirdness and creativity is more groundbreaking than when you visit northern uni's, they are good, but quite predictable. I don't know, I can't say for all, there'll always be the hidden gem, but the majority do not compare.
