You know, hearing you mention loneliness and being alone as pretty much interchangeable made me think of working in NYC surrounded by people but not talking to them and feeling terribly lonely and also backpacking for days without seeing anyone but never feeling lonely. I think which way you see being alone versus being lonely depends on how comfortable you are with your life at the time or how easy it is to generate your own happiness/ gratitude.

2:18 I got deja vu when I saw that first dispersed site you showed; I was there back in October. That whole area is beautiful and though the allowed dispersed area is only a small section of the reservoir, it's quite peaceful. There's another hot spring just 10 miles up the highway that costs $10 less to use (free). But it's too cold currently, during winter.

Good job! I tried living in my van in 2015 while still working full time in Portland, Or. Lasted 3 months until winter hit. People don't know how complicated it all is until you try it. Highs and lows. I felt very vulnerable sleeping in cities with people walking by talking late at night. Camping is enough for me now but I might try this lifestyle again at some point in the future depending where/how I work. You have good instincts be stay aware, but not afraid. Much luck to you on the road!

Cool video, love the waterfalls ! When I was your age, I felt loneliness for various reasons, and as you already know, the feelings come and go. Our brains are so amazing, so complex.....why do we get into a funk, and during that time, cannot see a way out ? Other times we are on a high, and nothing can bring us down. These days I'm most-happy in nature, and I understand why, as per having listened to Eckhart Tolle and becoming present. Cycling, gravel and mountain biking, I love doing solo, but hiking, I love doin g with my dogs....alone, hiking would get a little lonely 🙂

Just a tip, use your pasta dish to catch the water you are rinsing the other dishes. Add soap to it, that way you are soaking the pasta sauce as you clean, it will come off the plastic easier. It’s nice to see a real life video of vehicle camping.

at home i wash my dishes by hand also , but i leave them to soak in a bucket of boiling soapy water first then just rinse clean that is if i was lazy and didnt do the dishes right after cooking and the food dried on them. also - a hack for doing italian night. only use one pot for the entire meal, and then use boiling water on the pot. everything else utensils etc can all be paper and disposable. save your disposable paper plates etc specifically for meals that come with additonal clean up or are difficult to clean when water is limited.

Hi from Massachusetts ✌🏻 This video came up in my feed, thank you for sharing, I subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your videos! I just started making videos last year, long story short I'm 40 and spent a majority of my life numbing my senses. Last winter was a changing point for me, not sure why but it happened. Have a blessed day and safe journey! Edit: I always am commenting before watching a video in its entirety and have to come back and add. "Unchecked loneliness" I think its a fear of the unknown. I hope you don't take this negatively but I see you as someone thats very meticulous and organized. Right down to the time you allowed for this journey/project and now its coming to an end its bittersweet. Its like "whats next?" I admire your initiative to make a goal, save for it and put a plan in action to achieve that goal. I know I'm rambling now, so I will leave you with this, live in the moment, not for the moment, trust your gut, and keep sharing this amazing journey you are on! ✌🏻🕉⛈️♾️

You don't need to be around people and doing social things at least half the time to be satisfied...you just need a lover. A person that you can be intimate with...everyone needs physical intimacy every now and then. Get that going...someone you can visit when the mood strikes you. It will level you right out. Take my word for it, that "lonely" nonsense will disappear and your enjoyment of the alone time will be heightened. It's not complicated...it's simple. It's the missing ingredient.
