This is part 1 to this remote van camping trip. I experienced something very eerie that has never happened to me before. After viewing the footage and listening to the audio from the mic, I later confirmed I was definitely NOT Alone!

I just stumbled onto your channel. I've been camping remotely in BC for about 40 years. I recently decided to get my firearms license, I now carry a firearm or two on all trips, I also have a high powered spotlight that will light up the side of a mountain. You can never be over prepared when solo camping in the backwoods. I've had a couple of "spooky" encounters but nothing too scary. Having motion sensors around camp also brings a peace of mind. Looking forward to seeing your future adventures!

I'm an Island Girl and have camped all over VI in my 62 years. Love your van and that awning is really something! I met a couple from Germany last fall in Stewart while car camping to the Yukon. They had one of these awnings and I have been looking for one ever since but had no idea what they were called. What you heard could have been a cougar. They can sound like a screaming woman. You probably scared it too.

I think you are correct...it most likely was a cougar. I have watched videos of cougar screaming. I even heard one before, it sounded like a cross between an animal in pain and a woman's scream. Good thing you have a van to get into to be safe. I can't imagine experiencing that and then the only shelter you have is a tent. Cheers...

Nice video Harry, camping spot and love that awning. I always use the poles on mine because I leave it up when I sleep and if the wind kicks up in the middle of the night like it has at times it helps keep the awning stable, the last thing I want to do is get up in the middle of the night to close my awning. The scream could have been and probably was a mountain lion, but I'm not sure what kind of animals you have in that area. I don't worry to much when I'm camping these days as I use to back pack alone for many years in the wilderness so, camping in the back of my truck is a luxury to me. Lol Again great video have an awesome week.👍 PS You're a brave man to tell your wife as I would have waited to the next day to tell mine. 😆

Just stumbled onto your channel by accident! Very nice setup! Which Van is that? I am using a 4runner right now but I am considering getting a Van for more space!

Thank you! Its an older van but has lots of life. It is a 1995 Ford E-150. I love the 4 runner setups you can get to much nicer places! I wouldnt mind one as well for shorter trips and change of scenery. If you have the budget I would suggest any sort of van they are pretty nice space wise for camping/exploring. Thanks for watching!

@outlandharry the 4runner is perfect for short weekend trips go Forest camping sites. But I am considering a Van for a year long "working sabbatical" - work and live In the van while travelling cross country.

My brother was out camping and heard a similar sound and it freaked him right out. It turned out to be a deer warning call. Check out some KZbin videos of white tail deer warning calls it sounds like a woman screaming I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it was.

Nice scenery...who flies the drone?

For the most part it flies it self. It has the active track function which makes it follow an object moving.

Bobcat and lynx make horrendous sounds, but samsquanch supposedly do too. A woman being murdered is how I heard it described
