@@myorangeglasses2018 I really like the fence with the gate analogy for explaining the boundaries. Remember this one? It was an eye-opening moment for me. I feel that I viewed boundaries as walls. And when I heard (I'm listening to an audio book) that boundaries are meant to breathe - the gate opening and closing - I started observing changes in my communications with people. Knowing that I can open the gate and that I can close it when needed takes weight off my shoulders :-)

I have exactly the same feeling as you are! I moved to Silicon Valley at the age of 28, I relearn my English, go back to school, when other people in my country are working or have a family. I changed my major from science to business, while that time all my international friends are study science. Even that everyone told me, business major, only for Americans, if I want to stay and find a job in the US, I need to study anything related to a science major. After I graduated from my business major, got my OPT I realized that I don't want a job, I want to start my own business when everyone starting their job and seeking the H1B visa. Now, I finally start my own online business, still don't know how can I after one year when my OPT end, but I'm glad that I didn't follow my family's expectations that get married, follow my classmates' advice that study since major, follow my friends purse a job or H1B. Because I'm the way I am, no one in the world can be you or me! Therefore, we have the right to me(you) and be free! ❤️

Hey Marina! Thankyou! You know, like it's really related, I am from India and I wanna go to Belgium for my high school studies, but my parents won't let me do so. They about the society, that what they think that we are letting our daughter go somewhere far in another country at this young age, sort of thing. You know you really inspired me I mean you are also a girl who went to another country to study and now look at you, you are so successful because you worked hard and didn't care about people or society, you just did it. So you know it always also come up to money, that you will need an amount of money to go and study abroad, also my parents day this so if they don't listen to my thoughts, my wants that's okay your videos taught me to do what you wanna do, and when I complete my 10th grade exams, ah! I forgot to mention that, and so if my parents don't let me go, or just give me excuses for not be able to afford money kinda things, I won't be discouraged or I won't stop, I'll take a student loan, grab my stuffs and fly to Belgium for my high school studies. Thankyou Marina, thankyou so much, you made me believe in myself, and I am really grateful for that. Though you posted this video 6months ago, you may not be looking at this comment as also you are on a vacation, that's okay. But writing you this comment is really making me confident. After thinking alot, I've decided to leave University in 5th semester field of computerscience, the reason for taking this decision was , I live in Afghanistan and the level of education is so less than other places , after seeing this big difference I realized that I'm wasting my time here. So, I started to learn English now I reach advanced level, after that I've started becoming self-taught web developer, now I'm learning javascript language with udemy courses. I am just a random guy from a random part of the world struggling to be succeed in life myself. Reading your comment hurts me so much, I don’t know why. But what I want to tell you is don’t give up. Continue to persevere, stay strong, stay positive - your blog will gain traction one day. Just need the time and the need to believe! Best of luck!

@@sayyer10 thanks so much! I will keep going, but if nothing changes in half a year, I will have to re-evaluate where I will be investing my time then. I’ve got a lot of projects going on and gotta only dedicate myself to the most beneficial ones, we’ve got only so much time in life. Thanks once again, your comment is so nice!!! Best of luck to you as well!
